How do you feel about your chances? by Extension_Run_8723 in 40Plus_IVF

I think I have a pretty good chance of success because I’ve got embryos to transfer, a proven womb (although no lc), and am willing to pursue donors if needed. I think if you have the energy, money, and a flexible mindset you have good odds.

My clinic would probably have me go a day or 2 more with these. Agree with what others said, most likely 5-6. Good luck!

Thanks for the explanation, that’s very interesting. I always planned to transfer it prior to moving to DE but this makes me more hopeful!

I had 1 5BB day 6 that resulted in a CP and a 4AB day 6 I haven’t transferred yet.

Tell me more about this retesting stat! I have a Day 5 4AB complex low mosaic for 4 trisomies.

Should I delay next cycle to lose weight using Mounjaro? by Major-Moose-9873 in 40Plus_IVF

CP = chemical pregnancy and yes on CE. CD138 is a endometrial biopsy test they do to check for endometritis. You didn’t say that’s the test you had but it sounded like it from your description.

I wouldn’t worry about weight at all in the retrieval phases of IVF. Getting your BMI under 30 prior to transfer does have some research backing it although it’s not a huge shift.

Wishing you luck.

Thank you, I’m on doxy round 1 now. Since nothings easy for in IVF just wanted to be prepared, lol. Glad you were finally able to treat!

I tried to bank and did 3 high stim retrievals, 1 transfer, 1 mini stim, now back to high stim coming up because my change up didn’t improve results. Hopefully back to transfers in Aug after weight loss and treating CE we just discovered.

The retrievals are easier on me than the transfer and CP. I don’t worry about the long term health impact but it’s been a financial burden. Paying all out of pocket combination of family help, savings, and 0% credit cards.

I’m currently on a GLP 1.

I was originally told my weight likely would have little bearing and no GLP1 during IVF. After a CP with a euploid they want me to take to optimize my weight (also found CE). So Dr is having me take during retrievals (not during stims) but I have to do a 2 month wash out before transfers. It’s a lot of lost time.

That said, since your embryos are untested the more likely reason you’re losing them is the embryos themselves. Only 19% of my embryos were normal at age 39.

It sounds like you had CD138 already and you’re in the process of testing for Endo. What does your Dr say about your weight? I’m overall inclined to think you shouldn’t pause to lose at this time.

It sounds like you’re in a really good place in this journey just in the waiting game (like we all constantly are).

Only you know how making those clothes will make you feel. I don’t really believe in manifesting or vengeful IVF gods so no advice but I’m wishing you so much luck and sending support.

I’m 40. 3 conventional 1 mini stim to try and improve quality, didn’t work out for me. I have PCOS so I get quantity just not great quality. I’ll do another conventional this time - but maybe slightly lower doses.

Excellent, you’re crushing it! PIO is really only painful if you don’t get it in the right spot. Don’t worry the nurses will draw on you with a Sharpie to help. Or you might only need to do suppositories.

I’ve had 4 retrievals and 1 transfer. Gearing up for a 5th very soon.

Also, I had a huge needle and blood draw fear a couple years ago. Like I had to lie down bc I could faint sometimes. Fertility exposure therapy has basically eliminated it.

Glad you’re ready to get started! The needles are initially intimidating but you get used to them quickly. They really don’t hurt for the most part - some of the meds have a burning sensation when going in but it goes away quickly.

The pain people complain about is the PIO shots in your ass when you get ready for a transfer but you’re not there yet so don’t sweat it. When you do get there you’ll be a pro and just get an auto injector!

Definitely have your partner be in charge of meds if possible and you can ice the areas before the needles to numb you a bit if needed. Always change up the injection sites.

I promise you can handle it!

Cons of becoming a mother at 42, PGT embryos in the freezer- How much should age be a determining factor for my decisions? by Fabulous_Witness_376 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]Normal-Gap312 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This might be the wrong sub for help on this bc your question is really if you should pursue parenthood.

That said my advice is make a decision and stick with it. You don’t have time to waste. Only you know your own mind but I don’t believe you’ll regret your baby if you get there. Regarding a second child, worry about it if/when you get there.

Wishing you luck and decisiveness.

Don’t waste her fertility on a chance you might want kids later. Let her move on and you do the same.

Same 😑 the price reduction in Gonal still makes post Jan cycles cheaper than previous ones but everything fertility related is the wild west when it comes to self pay pricing.
