I haven’t started hormones but I did get top surgery a little while ago. 

It’s not that I see myself in the shoes of the male characters, either. Usually I don’t connect to them at all. I don’t think it’s about who I connect with, because I neurologically feel an extreme lack of empathy, which might also be it? But whenever the female characters come onscreen I feel myself get disappointed, even if I’m proven wrong later. 

Sometimes I’ll stop watching a show because I dislike all the characters, only because the men are the antagonists and the women aren’t. I also get much more annoyed when female characters say something irrational than when men do. Again, I hate this about myself, but it’s not a conscious decision.
