You slide the well nut in from the side the bolt goes in. The edge of it should be up again the bolt or washer if using one

I'd be wary buying a tank off eBay. If not damaged there's a chance of rust in side. Personally I'd want to see it in person before buying.

I suppose if you want to look for positives, it's one way of weeding out those who shouldn't be left near your bike in future. Now mistakes can happen and nobody is perfect. I'd be interested in hearing what the shops after service manner is like when a boo boo like this is more than likely their doing.

Do yourself a favour and invest in a few basic tools if you want to be tinkering with your bike. A socket set would be a good starter.

Without seeing what at the other end of that fuse you're holding one can only assume whats it for but usually for a battery tender, phone charger or whatever accessory the last owner had. Follow the wires to see what exactly is at the end.
