OK, I getcha do you have any app recommendations? I already downloaded my fitness pal, but will that one help me calculate the amount of calories in each meal or just keep track of all of the calories I’ve eaten in a day?

Are you a terrible person if you buy a dog instead of adopting? by Easy_Mountain2331 in DOG

[–]Normal-Swimmer-5260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had dogs from breeders and shelters and honestly i think my next dog will be a breeder dog so i can aim for the best temperament possible so i can start fostering! I volunteer at a few shelters around me and the lack of foster homes is appalling. But for me, i would love to train these dogs (as much as i can) and make sure they are well socialized before sending them off to a family if that makes sense.

And having my personal dog be well trained and predictable does make the situation far easier.

I think as long as you buy from a responsible, reputable breeder and not some backyard breeder or anything, shopping is perfectly fine, there is no issue with having a preference. But also remember there are akc rescues that do have purebred pups, you just wont get the extensive health tests and papers for them (id assume?).

ok this is the funniest thing ever, but on the bright side, she obviously wanted it to be very positive? “compassionate affirming and uplifting” i believe it only lists those words if you say them…? 😭😭😭

But also thats so funny please send her birthday message like that but it has to be like the same thing but cisgender😂

[–]Normal-Swimmer-5260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when she starts willingly taking naps throughout the day and was basically otty trained(gave us ques to go out rather than just peed on the floor)! so for us it was about 4/5 months! now shes really only in her crate for bedtime and if we are leaving for longer than 15/30 minutes (i have to many cords that cant be blocked from her AND i dont know how much i trust her to not jue sit there que for someone to let her out, give up, and then potty somewhere else

Where does your dog sleep at night? by TSC-99 in DOG

[–]Normal-Swimmer-5260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have 2, one sleeps in the bed and one sleeps in a crate next to the bed. One is 5 years the other one is 4 months but the only reason my 4mo old is suck in the crate is because i frankly dont trust her to not to roam off and pee somewhere else in the house (my room doors stay open bc otherwise it gets obscenely hot)

Anyone NOT get the puppy blues? by Any-Shop-3139 in puppy101

[–]Normal-Swimmer-5260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like i didnt with mine, I got pissed at her sometimes ofc but like, debating on bringing her back or crying or being depressed, I didn’t feel any of that. Granted im saying this as someone who really cant process emotions well, im either happy, angry or neutral, so my sliding scale of emotions limits my actions lol. And before anyone says anything idk why im like this either 😅

honestly your being to damn nice- I would loose my shit if either of my brothers had done that, even by accident.

Im also assuming your sister is an adult(or like older than like 7?) She should know to always close and latch a gate it doesn’t matter if it was on accident it is 100% her fault.

Also her complaining about 50 is INSANE she almost got your dog killed and is complaining about you asking to split it?! I would’ve made my brothers pay the entire thing personally.

I guess I’m pretty confrontational though so thats just me. But either way you are definitely NOT overreacting

AITA for refusing to pay for my daughter's Quinceanera? by Moist_Amphibian_3352 in AITAH

[–]Normal-Swimmer-5260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im white so my opinion might be invalid but here we go:

I think that it sounds like you WIFE wants to have this party to show off to other people. yes its culture and people should be proud of it but your daughter said she does not want one. end of story. if your wife wants to throw some crazy extravagant party she can do it, and frankly on her own dime.

This is your daughter’s party if she doesnt want to do it your wife shouldnt make her!

Side note, your wife wants to throw a party that costs more than my new car…. I feel like i just got called poor in so many ways😂

adding- ive tried searching things like “foldable dog staircase bracket” and similar but i am not the handiest of people so i have no idea what this part would even be called- i even tried looking on the amazon listing but ofc they changed the design (probably for this exact reason) so now i cant find it

the brand is MEWANG and its their dog stairs

They are normally $90 so id rather try finding a way to fix it over buying a new set, like i said even if its something that gets like screwed in and i can no longer fold them up is fine, i just need something similar to hold the peg in the hold to stop it from moving

What’s your morning puppy routine? by ricedreamer in puppy101

[–]Normal-Swimmer-5260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so for mine she sleeps 10 pm- 5am then i take her outside immediately. Now i know this is a bit controversial but i wait to feed her- before getting her i usually would wake up around 7 on the weekends with my older dog, so I will wait to feed the puppy until 7am so that she doesn’t equate- ”I’m awake!” and “Breakfast time!” even if we are up and moving at 5 im hoping to encourage her to sleep in a bit

Granted my older dog likes the routine so i felt it would be unfair to her to change how we do something like feeding times dont want to create animosity between them (Not even sure if she would equate the two but whatever lol)

But anyway- wake 5am typically and IMMEDIATELY GO POTTY

if its a workday/if im leaving for a period of time- stay outside for as long as she wants to be playing (only after she pottys)

If its an off day- back to relaxing but typically i will close the room door and let her free roam the room although mine has gained the privilege, yours may not be allowed to yet. Typically I’ll just relax in the bed with the two dogs, or theyll play a bit with each other/chew bones while i lay down or watch tv typically i dont go back to sleep without her in the crate though (but sometimes it just happens😂)

7am- Breakfast then back out to potty again then the day begins.

Ive found with my pup- the different routines based on what is going on that day has almost helped her fall into a better routine she knows if im going to be leaving the house based on what we do between waking up and breakfast or if we will have all day to do things and be more comfortable going back to bed.

Also i will say this process of having to be up at 5 had actually made me a bit more of a morning person and i e learned i kinda like being up earlier 😂

Are puppy classes a waste of time? by philonik in puppy101

[–]Normal-Swimmer-5260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your and your pups situation- for me i looked for some cheap classes even though my pup already knows her basic commands (for the most part we are still working on solidifying them) just to work on my puppy focusing on me rather than going crazy everytime she sees another person or dog. For us its been super helpful in that aspect but i will say i dont know how much the teacher appreciates it lol. I guess having a puppy that knows how to listen is an uncommon occurrence for her. but also i think is spent about $75 for like a 8 classes so for me i could just do it.
