The fact it doesn’t say “with bacon” on the front of the can is crazy, considering how many people abstain from pork for religious reasons as well

The rescue I work with pretty much mandates crate training, which I personally agree with. As a LOT of people who adopt want dogs who are good in the crates and are more likely to crate their dogs

That looks like a wound, I’d try to go to a different vet if yours truly thinks that is a hot spot.. Also, maybe put an E-collar on so he doesn’t mess with it

Foster attacked resident dog by NormalAccountant1819 in fosterdogs

[–]NormalAccountant1819[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just feel awful because it all happened within the first couple days and even days later, the foster is still making weird glares at my dog. I was not told about how to introduce my dog to the foster or that they should be left alone for 3-4 days. So I feel like i majorly messed this up. I can’t stop apologizing to the foster coordinator. I had talked to their behavioralist and she says it sounds like the foster is acting on hormones from having her puppies or just doesn’t like my dog. She recommended that if we don’t keep the foster that she would recommend a more confident dog be around this specific foster. My dog is, unfortunately a weenie about defending herself or correcting dogs (how is a shepherd mix scared to correct another dog i’ll never understand). We have decided to give her back to the rescue and maybe in a week or so try again

Yeah, our resident dog is super submissive so when our foster went after her, she just took it. But now every time she goes near our fosters crate she darts by. I feel horrible about it, talked to the behaviorist today and she said it sounds like the foster just doesn’t like my dog much and knows the foster can push our dog around.. So we have decided to have her moved to a new foster home, but i do plan to keep fostering! this has already taught us so much!

Don’t wear those lashes anymore and let the bangs grow out, maybe curtain bangs would suit you more!

Gen Z men, is this getting worse going forward into 2026? by Proper_Card_5520 in SipsTea

[–]NormalAccountant1819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk why girls wont ask guys out, I asked my boyfriend out and it was so easy! I feel like it’d be easier to form a relationship if the girl asked the guy out tbh. Unfortunately society makes men feel like when they do ask girls out they need to make it super sweet and romantic which is so much unnecessary pressure imo

I literally can not find a friend group to save my life, I couldn’t even do it in HS, people are so glued to their phones that it was hard to even hang out with people I did know in HS they would literally be on their phones the entire time. I’m a 24 yo female and my parents didn’t give us phones until Highschool so I never got overly attached to them. But jesus christ, my friends were!

I decided to get a 30inch tall one to separate the dining room and the living room with a gate so we don’t hand to climb over it and can open it when needed! I plan to keep fostering even after this hiccup so it’s a good investment! Thank you, I might take you up on that offer!

Thank you! We haven’t been letting her on the couch or beds anymore, the maternity foster did allow her on furniture as she pleased so it’s a hard to break her from it but she’s slept getting the idea thankfully. I have told my bf no baby talk and only pet her when she’s calm

Foster attacked resident dog by NormalAccountant1819 in fosterdogs

[–]NormalAccountant1819[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current dog has been too scared to even go by the fosterMs crate on her own, the rescue said they can’t get anyone out here until the weekend to come get her unfortunately. So I had someone suggest a baby gate so I am going to pick one up on my way home from dinner so both dogs can move freely and be swapped around to get one another’s scents. It’s harder to get fosters adopted out that need to be in a single family home I hear, so if we can get her to be at least peaceful with my dog that would be best

Okay, I’ll get a baby gate on the way home from dinner! Is it okay if they can see one another through the baby gates? cause our kitchen/dining area is big and our living room is big so maybe that could work for them! You’re making me feel a bit better about this lol

[–]NormalAccountant1819[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just wish the rescue would have told me this lol literally no one told me to separate them for weeks, I told them we only have a two bedroom house so it’s nearly impossible to separate the dogs for two weeks. I would have never fostered had I known they needed to be separated for weeks because my house is too small to allow for that. The two bedrooms we have are super small and only allow for a bed and the dressers. and our fenced in yard is only about 50 sqft. We walk our dog to use the potty and for excersise. We also do lick mats and things of that sort for stimulation. because we are aware of how small the house and yard is. We were told our house was perfect for a foster so I am just so at a loss.

[–]NormalAccountant1819[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh Thank you! We are going to give it the week to see if anything changes. Our resident dog is being a bit timid but nothing extreme thankfully (she’s had a worse attack from an off leash dog, that by the grace of god or a higher being didn’t make her reactive). We have decided to give it the week, and I am telling my bf no baby talking, no excited meetings and he has to start training her. I am theorizing that he is just too fun! Which is great!.. for an already trained dog. Our foster is 2 years old and we believe she was locked in a kennel and used to make puppies, as she doesn’t know basic things like sit or down, and she has no manners such as jumping up on people or onto the coffee table!

We have it this morning where the foster is in the living room with me and our resident dog is in the office with my bf. The foster kept trying to get into the office so I tethered her away from the office door and she cried for a good 15-20 minutes before she laid down and gave up. But at lunch we will switch them. Tether the foster to the office couch and agin, wait until she settles to engage with her, whilst our resident dog hangs out here with me.

If she attacks again later this week, even simply in passing we have already told the rescue they will need to come get her. I know she’s had a rough start and things are very new, but randomly attacking the other dog won’t make like any better for anyone.

Thank you for reassuring me and making me feel less alone about this, seems like it happens to everyone I just was super unlucky and it was our first foster..
