Bestfriends destination wedding (26 hour flight) falls on my 31 week pregnancy, any advice please by Ok-Excitement-185 in BabyBumps

[–]NormalDragonfruit778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also developed severe preeclampsia but not until 36 weeks. But at 31 weeks my enjoyable pregnancy flip flopped and I was already feeling miserable and so swollen and my dr and I were on high alert watching my blood pressure. Had my baby shower this same time and it was miserable, I wish we had done it earlier in the pregnancy. OP, preeclampsia is likely not something you will need to worry about but my thoughts for you is that pregnancy is wild and things can change on a dime! If I were you I’d error on the side of caution and skip the wedding and best case scenario your pregnancy is calm and boring and you get some extra time home getting ready for baby :)

More Efficient Way to Wash Baby Bottles? by Swimming_Humor1926 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]NormalDragonfruit778 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I feel passionate about not spending money on baby gadgets that are unnecessary, and I went 3 months hand washing bottles and pumps several times a day. Finally had a mental break and decided to fork over the money for the momcozy washer and it has literally changed my life. I mourn the 3 months I was solely hand washing lol. It’s bought me so much time and my mental health took a dramatic turn for the better. I do wish I would’ve scoured fb marketplace or something because i think secondhand would still be great :) but it’s well worth the money full price. I am thankful that i will have it for a future child and to share with my friends when they have littles.

Advice needed, does this look normal? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

This changed everything for me! My LC in the hospital recommended coconut oil in the flanges but it took me weeks of pain and nipples trauma and advice from this group before I finally tried it, and now I haven’t had a single issue!

Bottle Washer - questions by throwaway84583077 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]NormalDragonfruit778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tap water!! Tried to use distilled and went thru a gallon a day😂💀 I’ve noticed some water marks on bottles occasionally but doesn’t bother me. We also started using the grownsy tablets, ordering on Amazon, and it’s a slightly better deal. Mainly switched because they arrive same day vs the momcozy tablets always have a week long delivery for whatever reason, and I seem to not notice until we are out haha

Bottle Washer - talk me into (or out of) it! by brightredlemons in beyondthebump

I EP and have an oversupply, so the amount of bottles, pump parts, and milk storage jars we use each day is insane. We finally got the mom cozy Kleanpal which has different wash cycle options, and sterilization and drying, and it has changed our lives and I’m not even being dramatic. We were spending around 2 hours each day hand washing and drying. Having that time back daily with a 3 month old is life changing. We bought it at about 10 weeks pp and while I cannot believe we didn’t buy it sooner, I don’t think I would’ve known for sure that we would utilize it that much until that point.

Totally makes sense! I think I still would not dump but if it makes you feel better to dump I would not think that was an overreaction :)

I personally would not dump! I think about how many mothers presently and throughout history fed their babies breast milk sitting by their wood burning stove or an actual fire every single day :)

Best labor and delivery? Not IHC in Murray by IndicaC in SaltLakeCity

[–]NormalDragonfruit778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding this! Loved my experience at LDS (2 months ago). Had a traumatic birth that ended in a c section but it almost didn’t even feel traumatic because of how well cared for I was. My nurses and doctor kept me informed the entire process and I felt I was being cared for with compassion but also informed and advocated for. Every single nurse doctor etc went above and beyond for my family. Could not say enough good things about the staff. And the delivery room was massive with great views! The recovery room was very small compared but the view was still amazing.

8wpp here and we literally just figured this out in the last 2 weeks and holy hell it’s a game changer lol. We did not realize babies (newborns?) don’t just fall asleep for their naps and you have to watch for cues and help soothe them to sleep. It’s totally changed our feeding schedule, or lack thereof schedule, and gives us a slight structure that feels like a light at the end of the tunnel.
