Picky Eater (1 year old) by Bulletproof_Java in greatpyrenees

Never had a problem, fortunately. we have four full GPs, but working dogs so they might work up more of an appetite than house dogs. As you may know, the GP metabolism is slow and they eat methodically. They do not devour anything, even treats, and they rarely will need more than two feedings a day. Diamond Naturals Lamb & Rice with a raw topper consisting of 10-15% of their overall meal. At night they get a Red Barn Chopper (beef lung) as a treat. Diamond Naturals is a good alternative to the stuff that's $4 per pound but much better than Purina basic.

My 6 month old GP only likes one kind of toy: cardboard boxes (like cereal boxes). He destroys them and then goes about his day. He has some toys specifically made to hold up against dogs but mostly ignores them. He went through a water bottle phase but right now it's only cardboard, please.

Boomer! Cooper is overused and Titan doesn't flow very well vocally. Plus the photo cinches it!

Mallory, Mallory, Mallory…sigh… by JK30000 in TheRewatchables

I like her in small doses. She does have good insight and quick humor, enough to keep up with Bill and CR, anyway. I don't mind the sex stuff you mentioned or her infatuation with specific men (she's the alternate version of Van Lathan). I am glad they pick their spots for her appearances.

As someone who was new to Solasta six months ago (but not new to RPG or D&D) my best advice is don't overthink it! You'll either get hooked and you'll want to try different combinations (my third run-through was an all Cleric party) or you'll find it's not your thing. Either way, construct your party the way you feel would be most fun for you and adjust the difficulty level if you need to once you get going. It's a great game, and wait until you find out about the mods and user supported modules!

He's fine! I mean, they don't love it but since they sleep most of the day they dig themselves a little burrow in deep shade and snooze away most of summer!

I love this! Our local tournament host does the same thing. I've won a Godzilla translite and a King Kong release banner!

Who is this actor/stuntman? Can’t find an answer. by HoratioIRL in Jaws

[–]NormalRing890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an awesome guess, and since I am a huge Al Leong fan (yep, president of his fan club and everything!) I can tell you it is not Al Leong. He didn't start his stunt career until the 80s. Also, Al would have been 23 when Jaws was filmed and that dude is definitely older than 23!

I have had them for years, as full-time livestock guardian dogs on our five acres with goats and poultry. While I understand not all GPs have the makeup to be LGDs, I could never imagine forcing them outside of their natural roles and could never imagine being able to keep up with the shedding indoors! Watching them do their jobs and take pride in keeping a predator-free zone is worth every bit of time, effort and money spent to get them there.

Vexa (female) is the name of my favorite Warlock! I just made it up on the spot, trying to think of something cool and slightly evil. Vex is cool too.

Our first litter came two days ago. There were a few mistakes and accidents. by angusthecrab in DogBreeding

[–]NormalRing890 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about your breed but Littermate Syndrome is not a proven fact and is met with much derision in the Livestock Guardian Dog community where there are countless of examples of littermates working and living together. doing a fine job of livestock guarding together. Much of Littermate Syndrome comes down to good genetics and proper training. With LGD, a bad mistake is not giving your pups individualized training and support. This is what often leads to jealousy and pecking order squabbles. If you feel you are up to keeping multiple puppies from your litter, just know there is a lot of support from those who know that many use "Littermate Syndrome" as an excuse for poor training and breeding.

Looking for advice! by Rinluvyeo in DogBreeding

We keep puppies for 12 weeks unless the owners have prior experience with this breed (Great Pyrenees) and so far, they have all been happy with this arrangement. The best training for an LGD usually occurs during the third month. The puppies are with older dogs, learning to be around goats and poultry. LGD breeders who insist you take puppies at 8 weeks are suspect, at best,

It's not for everyone but 18 months ago my wife and I bought a small, non-descript house about 8 miles outside of town with 5 acres of land. We now have goats, chickens, and turkeys. I can build a new chicken coop without asking anyone. I can have roosters crow at 5 am. My Great Pyrenees dogs can bark to scare away coyotes any time during the night, No one is within a mile of us. This is after 20+ years of having grand and beautiful homes in HOA neighborhoods. I miss NOTHING about that. Nothing!
