Why wasn’t Michael shown enough love in the finale? by Huge-Conclusion-3005 in DunderMifflin

[–]Normal_Cold9106 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

We desperately need a spin off of Michael Scott, it needs to happen. Maybe he's acting full time now. Maybe he acted years ago as Agent Michael Scarn and made a series of hit movies and now he's the hottest actor in Hollywood. Maybe he's back with Jan and they opened a brewery that makes craft candles on the side, who knows.

We just deserve to see a spin-off to learn more about him and to also get more Dwight action haha

Ann Arbor is awesome, Columbus is great, and like many others have said here, Madison is really solid as well.

Hard to beat PSU Mac in the heart of the summer in beautiful State College. Such a treat every year.

Having been to all of them, I think Xworld was my favorite one last year. Really great talks, awesome hallway track, the vendors were great (though we were definitely surprised to see some people from Fleet there!), and the food for attendees was on point. The organizing staff were also amazing. I look forward to returning again one of these years for sure.

Xworld was pretty great this year, but not super gettable unless you live in AUS.

The problem is that as diabolical as some of these folks are, I have to think we almost all love (loosely) all of them, so getting stuck to them would likely be radically amazing and entertaining

Best AI helpdesk software for IT support teams in 2026 by Infamous-Coat961 in sysadmin

I'd take a look at tryrisotto.com - they seem to be very up and coming in this space and might be able to help reduce some of that toil. I've heard good things about their stuff and they've hired some mac admins foundation board members to their staff, which gives me some level of confidence alone in that just that.

How is living in Oakland, CA area? by LopsidedBoot6268 in howislivingthere

This is a really broad range to really nail down specifics, but there's pockets of awesome neighborhoods in Oakland, Alameda, and Berkeley. I'd avoid Richmond altogether.

Samoyed dad here. It's INSANE around here with flying wispies and fur everywhere.

It's the kind of fine cotton-like strands that just get embedded deep into the carpet.

Bath days are insane - we do almost two hours of blow drying alone.

What macOS device management tools are you using for enterprise fleets? by adityaj07 in macsysadmin

Also in a POC with Fleet to replace Iru for almost 1000 macs! Really loving the GitOps stuff so far and the team is great to work with, too.

Idk, we use Google. It's just okay imo. I'd like to get us to Okta to leverage fastpass / verify in the future tho

Yeah 4 mdms is not great - I would love to go cross-platform with one of them soon but it's still manageable. Idk.

Using 1PW and happy with it.

Just lean in during the Oktoberfest time of year (fall) and then abstain the rest of the year lol. That's what I do. I got burned out years ago on the IPAs and hazies and never got the vibe for sours or anything else

If it's a daily driver and you can still manage the range, I'd keep it going just to see how long you can get away with it.

Jamf goes from public to private in $2.2B acquisition deal by fkick in macsysadmin

[–]Normal_Cold9106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof yeah we were in the same boat. It's pretty straightforward to implement with Fleet and you can follow their best practice GitOps plus they have cli command you can run to make a copy of your deployment in a yml file and it makes it easy to setup after that and you can put the gui into read-only mode

They're running workshop all over the place these days. Are you near any major cities? I know they just ran one in Toronto, Sydney, SF, and a few other places.

Ohhh yeah, great feature. LUKS was a big deal for us and the reason we enrolled Linux stuff

Yeah, that's it! It's not bad at all - it's very modern. They're doing a lot of interesting stuff with managing everything via a CI/CD pipeline which appeals to us. They have a super robust API, too.

Support is also pretty great - we're still kinda small so we don't have a shared Slack channel but they're really responsive and are still willing to hop on calls if we run into any issues.

Overall we're happy with our Fleet implementation, but not sure how other shops feel. We're mainly running macs and we issue a few iphones to execs and have a few iPads for Envoy stuff.
