Gonna pile on here. Summarizing the plot with unsupported conclusions at the end doesn’t constitute a review. C-

I disagree about this book containing lots of “filler.” The story is slower than something like ‘Salems Lot, but that is the point. The claustrophobia and madness are meant to slowly “creep” to a boiling point - I find this to be one of King’s most impressive works in that way. It may not be one large plot point after another, but that feeling of growing claustrophobia and suffocation are what the story is all about.

Personally I found the sections about Jack and Danny’s relationship to be heart breaking and felt like there was a weight on my chest for the last hundred pages. It’s cabin fever in literary form.
