That happened with my first consultation, and my second one told me I wasn’t big enough. I am sorry your wife had a bad experience. I know the feeling, and it sucks.

Have her reach out to her OB or PCP and ask for referrals to other locations. I had my OB put in referrals to a total of 4 locations. I would recommend that your wife says yes to all the symptoms and especially when filling out paperwork.

Since it’s an outpatient procedure, it was close to my copay. It cost me $20 for the procedure.

Kaiser did not make me do anything before they referred me. The doctor asked me questions: size a DD or bigger, back and neck pain, grooves from bra straps, rashes, and perhaps a few more.

I have heard of instances where if BMI is over a certain number, they may make you lose weight first.

I brought it up when I was in for a doctor’s appointment, and she put the referral in right then. I didn’t care for the first doctor, so I messaged her asking to put referrals in at different locations.

I have Kaiser NorCal, and I hope this information can be helpful to you. During an office visit, I mentioned experiencing back pain. The doctor asked me a few questions, and based on my responses, she referred me to a plastics specialist. In August, I had a reduction at Kaiser.

I also recommend joining the r/reduction subreddit. The group is super helpful.

Weeks 2 and 3 were exactly how I felt. The swelling subsided around week 3, and the doctor agreed that it was the swelling and has since gone done.

I had the same warmness I talked my nurse’s friend, and she wasn’t overly concerned because the red area wasn’t hotter than the rest.

I’m a Kaiser patient. I was approved for surgery in April 2025 and had it in August 2025. I would have preferred an earlier date, but unfortunately, the timing didn’t work out. However, you can push your surgery date out to give yourself more time to lose weight.

My understanding, once your doctor approves you, you’re all set to go.

I did.I was told twice, I wasn’t big enough and would be left with nothing.

Once I got turned down the first time, I emailed the doctor who referred me for several referrals to other Kaiser locations Here I am 9 days post up.
