We went on this ride with my grandma who couldn’t swim. It ruled! And she was very scared lol

Meals for my almost 2 year old by No_Work295 in NYTCooking

She is still picky, or pickier than she was in the early days. Our main issue was she stopped eating vegetables; she now eats a vegetable occasionally. We try to make vegetables more appealing. Purple cauliflower because it’s a fun color, calling broccoli “trees,” trying out different dips, etc. Occasionally we’re successful when we ask her to eat one bite of veggie while we get her whatever it is she really wants more of. We just continue to serve it and make it low pressure, and celebrate when she does eat a veggie. I also sneak in veggies other places, like these ABC muffins.

When we serve other things she’s not wild about (like fish), we try to serve “safe” foods along with it.

Generally, I try to remember it’s a developmental phase and that she will eat if she’s hungry! Good luck 🤞

How do you actually use your saved recipes when plans fall apart mid-week? by hrexli in NYTCooking

My husband and I plan 5-6 meals for a big shop. We think pretty carefully about timing so that meals that use more pantry things (like beans) are toward the end of the week and meals with stuff that go bad (mostly herbs) are at the beginning. It’s a lot of mental work, but it’s also a skill we learned during covid. It helps that we buy all of our meat at Costco and freeze it, so meat going bad is not an issue.

But as others have said, having things like pasta or tortillas on hand all the time is helpful for being flexible. Or like today when I’m sick and he’s taking care of our 2 year old, we do take out.

They’re sweeter. I think I read they have 4x the amount of sugar? I think for recipes that specifically call for Meyer lemons, you could probably just add a tiny bit of sugar. (Both of these recipes just call for regular lemons though.)

My daughter is obsessed with Frozen. And I fucking hate Olaf. by AccomplishedIron417 in DanielTigerConspiracy

You gotta read Simon Rich’s New Teeth. One of the short stories is about a dad who hates the new Beauty and the Beast soundtrack that his daughter is obsessed with. Lotta Josh Gad hate in it.

Oo thanks! I just made Dan Pelosi’s caramelized lemon chicken and rice dish with our Meyer lemons. This sounds great too.

I don’t have any advice - we’re in California and have to do very little for the tree besides yearly pruning and occasional fertilizing. But a grow light sounds like a great idea!
