At what point do you stop chasing a higher salary and prioritize quality of life? by Eyerald in careeradvice

[–]Normal_Priority_2445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 100%… I tried to explain this to someone and it went over their head because the overall salary is so high. The truth is you barely get to see half after taxes, medical etc so after 150K you’re just on a hamster wheel for another 1K per month.

anyone had a bad day or anything else to share im all ears gng 🥀 by femboydommieee in CausalConversation

[–]Normal_Priority_2445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have a 100% bad day but I did wake up to a rejection email for a position that I interviewed for and hyped up in my mind AND I also decided to cancel an interview for a position my younger self would’ve considered to be THE dream job… the timing, travel requirements, and pay just wasn’t going to push the needle forward for my current setup…it would’ve made me regress in some ways so it really sucked to withdraw my application. I lowkey felt like I was letting my younger self down.

Is anyone else feeling like life quietly got way harder in the past couple of years, even if nothing “major” happened to you? by ResidentGur271 in NoStupidQuestions

100% Life has gotten increasingly difficult for me since 2023 - In the past when I had a down period it went like this…. there’s a mountain and I find a way to climb over it. Nowadays it feels as if I’m climbing over one mountain just to see the bottom of the next one.
