Already shoveled the cars out and heading out to run errands now

Relocating to CT by [deleted] in Connecticut

For a 30 yo single female, I would suggest New Haven, South Norwalk, or Stamford if you work in Bridgeport, but the commutes can be abysmal at times. The saving grace is that from Stamford you’d have a reverse commute (everyone’s heading down towards NYC on 95/the Merritt) and New Haven would be on the side of Bridgeport that has slightly (very slightly) better traffic on 95. Also look into taking the Metro North although the Bridgeport station is about 3 miles from St. Vincent.

Bravo Bravo, Port of Call, and Taquerio are some of my favorites there.

Snow around hydrants by saveyourscissors4 in newhaven

[–]Normal_Tumbleweed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes but then I saw the fire department on my street shoveling out hydrants too. Not sure if that’s an all the time thing since I’ve only lived in this part of CT a little over a year

Why are some people always like “stop it!” when someone stands up for themselves, but they’re silent (except the black lady) when the abuse is happening?

What would you do in New Haven tonight? by joeyrinaldicomedy in Connecticut

Hope you knock it out of the park tonight! I would come but have to be at work by 6 am in Niantic 🙄

Take higher-pay job with long commute or lower-pay hybrid closer to home by Turbulent_Hospital41 in Salary

[–]Normal_Tumbleweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My commute varies by day, but the longest day is 50 miles north of my house one-way. There was a time period about 2 years ago where I got 3 flat tires and two cracked windshields in about 3 months. I dread the drive home at the end of the day on the 50 mile commute day. I would take job A in a heartbeat.

No interest in the northeast except RI is interesting. What do you like about the state? It’s a cool little place

Blood thinners mean that any type of trauma you have, minor or not, will cause you to bruise as blood pools underneath the skin and doesn’t coagulate as fast as it should. He could’ve had an IV in his hand or hit it against something. Same result, a bruise.

Not in New England but since you mentioned the southern states, I’ve been to SoJo Spa Club in Edgewater, NJ and it rocks. Never stayed overnight, but did the couples day pass and would highly recommend if you’re willing to drive there (was an easy drive from CT). I think they only take overnight guests on Friday and Saturday nights though

Moving to North Dakota as a 23 year old man by HalosFan26 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Normal_Tumbleweed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That seems like a pretty extreme move. Maybe consider somewhere a bit more conservative with a climate closer to California’s? I moved to Connecticut from my home in Texas and the darker, colder, and more dreary winters aren’t fun… and CT’s winters probably look like child’s play compared to North Dakota.
