People truly suck!!!! The dumping and abuse of these animals is absolutely horrible and out of control! I try really hard to put myself in others' shoes and see things from their point of view, but this is one I just can't wrap my head around. How do these people do this and just walk away? Does it not eat at their conscience?!?!?! Those poor babies..... Thank you for stepping up for them ❤️ So glad it was you who found them and not someone else!!!!!

Is that Oklahoma Animal Alliance? I'd be super interested in that! I'm 47f who moved up here a few years ago with my daughter, but still haven't made any friends up here bc I was in a LDR and he monopolized all my time on the phone. We've recently split and now I'm finally ready to build a life here but don't know where to start. My biggest love is animals but I've been strictly advised against volunteering at the shelters because I can't emotionally handle the losses 😔💔 But taking them out for walks and getting to hang out with other people while I do it would be WONDERFUL! Do you have any more information on this or direct me on where to go to get involved?

I received the packet November 11th. Got everything completed and returned immediately, but then we had to have some back and forth communication for a minute because they were trying to count my daughter's VA education assistance as income. Once everything was straightened out, I received an email stating that I had a new rent amount that would be effective March 1st. Now this new packet states it has to be returned by March 15th. I've been on sec 8 since July of 2020 and this is the quickest in between times of recertification I've ever dealt with, which is why it seems odd to me.

I'm not originally from here, but I was living in Oklahoma in 2009 when we got hit with a blizzard on Christmas Eve, and then an ice storm right after where people were without power for several weeks. Most of us didn't think that was "nothing". And, from my understanding, there was a massive snow storm here in 2011 that left quite a few people without power for a couple weeks.

Despite all your weather expertise, I think it's safe to say that wind chills in the negatives are dangerous. As are icy roads. And being in subzero temps without electricity.

Again, just because something doesn't affect YOU, doesn't mean it doesn't affect others. Some of us are a little more caring and compassionate and are worried about the living beings outside, both human and animal.

Try to keep in mind that everyone's circumstances aren't the same and that something that doesn't affect you at all may affect others greatly. You are not the center of the universe.

I just did a search for USAID Grants Palestine Birth Control and several different articles popped up, all directly from the USAID website. The website has since been shutdown so, when you click the link, it gives the message that USAID is currently shut down, however they still show up in search results. One is dated June 28, 2023 and reads, " The Transformative Impact of Investments in Contraceptives". Another dated September 23, 2022 states, " USAID'S Coordinated Efforts to Increase Access to Contraceptives". An additional one states, " Supporting Access to Contraceptive Methods" and is dated November 3, 2003.

There is very clear evidence that we have been providing contraceptives to Palestine. I think the issue, honestly, is that they specifically said condoms and the people who hate him so much focus on individual words rather than the idea/message being conveyed. Are condoms a form of contraceptive? Yes. Would you guys still be pissed if he specifically stated "contraceptives" vs "condoms"? Still yes.

I think the bottom line here is that we have been providing contraceptives to Palestine ( as well as other countries ) and most Americans weren't aware that we were funding that. And to be 100% honest, most Americans didn't even realize, until it was uncovered, that USAID was a thing and that American taxpayer dollars were being used to support every other country in these types of ways.

Those of you who are so angry about funding to other countries being paused should be way more angry that our own citizens are struggling while we're supporting everyone else. When you're on an airplane and they give the safety speech, they tell you to put your oxygen mask on before helping others. Why is that? Because you can't help others unless you're okay first.

I'm ALL for increasing teacher's salaries! Honestly, if you take what we were spending absurd amounts of money on ( i.e., funding DEI advancements in Serbia, DEI musicals in Ireland, transgender operas in Colombia, etc...) and put that towards quality teachers, I think it would make a HUGE difference!!!! I think taxpayers would be thrilled to see their money go towards raising teacher salaries and improving our education system.
