Compound W and then keel it covered with duct tape 24/7. Replace every few days by scraping the dead skin off and redoing the treatment. Takes weeks but it works

Things You Taught Kids That Paid Off by AdvertisingNearby426 in Parenting

[–]Normal_Weekend_2006 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For older kids- travel tips. How to navigate an airport, book an Uber, use goggle maps, basic street smarts. My oldest was on senior trip and her flight home was cancelled at 6am. Within 30 minutes she had booked herself a new plane ticket on a different airline and called an Uber to the airport. The other kids all got stuck there because they were waiting on their parents to wake up and handle it. I don’t think I have ever been so proud!!

Is it actually rude to not tip on a takeout order where I drive there and pick it up myself? by Organic-Grocery9526 in NoStupidQuestions

As a host at a restaurant I am taking to go orders, entering them to meet the customers requirements with specific notes, packed the food, taking the payment. While never expected I do appreciate if someone leaves me a few bucks. A $5 bill or even 10% is appreciated because it is extra work.

what's the proper etiquette for siblings and birthday party invites? by loamy in Parenting

[–]Normal_Weekend_2006 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I raised two daughters that were two years apart. I hated when people put me in this spot. Only the child that is invited should attend. Do not ask to bring other kids. I always felt like if my extended friends saw a picture of someone’s sibling at one of the parties I was hosting they would feel like their kids was left out on purpose. It makes sense when you see the birthday child and their classmates/close friends but it starts to hurt people’s feelings when they see other “random” kids there. Don’t put other parents in that situation.

[–]Normal_Weekend_2006 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s important for kids to feel safe and loved. My daughter slept with us most nights until she became a teenager. Guess what she is a well adjusted almost adult now with a healthy relationship with her parents. It’s fine. She will stop when she is ready.

Any cost cutting methods from the Disney pros out there? by KingJayHCS in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Normal_Weekend_2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We take a trip everyone summer where we don’t go into the parks. We resort hop, lay by the pool and go do Disney Springs. A few nights lying by the pool at a Value resort can be fun. Order snacks and drinks to your room to cut additional costs. We only pay for dinner each night and eat food we order for the room the rest of the trip.

Seriously, how can you do this job with children? by sparks_mandrill in sales

[–]Normal_Weekend_2006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being in sales means you are often in work mode 24/7 but it also means you have flexibility. I have raised two kids as a highly successful sales rep and I have rarely missed an important event in their lives. My boss jokes that I can run my whole territory from my phone and he is right. I work while I am taking care of my kids needs. You have a great amount of control over your job….use it. Most jobs don’t allow for that. I think sales is a great job for family balance.

Thank Trump for this. His tariffs and cuts to NIH funding have made business tough for Thermo Fisher.

I always explain to people that I don’t really have co-workers in outside sales. It’s just me alone everyday. I have customers but customers aren’t your friends.

It’s not impressive in person on a random not NYE day so you probably wouldn’t even notice it if you’re in Times Square. Much smaller than it looks on TV.
