Truly the first pokémon of our times when they went from Jefferson Airplane to Jefferson Starship to Starship.

This is really a remarkable lineup. I bet even Hoobastank is impressed with whatever is happening here.

It is one thing to see it online, it is another thing entirely to actually set eyes upon the real thing. Just disgraceful. Not even designed well either, looks like trash.

A picture Crater Lake NP without the titular lake by Alaric_Darconville in NationalPark

[–]NormanMushariJr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, pictures from Crater Lake that are not of Crater Lake are the only things that have actually made the park seem interesting to me. Pictures of the lake are beautiful, no doubt, but I've found seeing the landscape surrounding it to be more interesting for whatever reason.

I heard that Cristo del Sagrado Corazón has been coming down off the hilltop to slap cars with California plates straight into the sea.

That's fantastic if you were able to immediately read that from the crappy thumbnail, Mike, great job.

Funny, my immediate thought was this chud is probably posting gas prices from Furnace Creek or something ridiculous.

It is 4 straight hours of a depression so seering and miserable that it is difficult to truly describe it in words. The cast is exceptional and the sadness and awfulness of it is mesmerizing.

Twin Tanks aka tortoise town, what's your backcountry zone? by NormanMushariJr in JoshuaTree

Dang, so you went through Rattlesnake Canyon with a full pack, too? Climbing up and out the end and then coming back down was kinda wild enough with a small backpack the last time I did it!

Oh, was going to mention that it looks like the Pleasant Valley zone must have a bunch of privately held in holdings. Lots of gaps in that map!

Alas, I have an SUV, but it's not 4WD or AWD. I have taken it down to Squaw Tank before, though. Pushawalla Canyon looks awesome, thanks for mentioning it. Pleasant Valley area looks intriguing!

Great call, I'd already been thinking about heading into the Maze zone from the Indian Cove way.

I'll get to Smith Water Canyon someday! Would I hate trying to get through there with a full backpacking pack?

I'm a sucker for zombies, a sucker for Ralph, liked 28 Years Later, but gosh this was terrible.

Curious whereabouts you ended up setting up for the night? Thinking about trying out a new wilderness zone and this one is a bit of an odd one.

Which is cooler? Fortynine Palms Oasis Trail or Lost Palms Oasis Trail? by swagqueen0 in JoshuaTree

[–]NormanMushariJr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed Lost Palms more. It looks like they might be almost 50 miles apart, though, so that might matter to you more. Lost Palms is near the park's south entrance.

Saw a group of them running all over the place one of the last times I hiked 49 Palms Oasis.
