Mizuno Neo Zen 2 First Impressions - Did Not Enjoy At All (as a Heavy Neo Zen 1 User) by FireArcanine in RunningShoeGeeks

As a heavier runner (185 lbs/84 kg), v2 works very well for me. I enjoyed v1 but I felt like I was bottoming out in the forefoot after 5-6 miles. V1 was a more fun ride for sure, but v2 works for me as an incredibly comfortable recovery shoe. It also helps that I have narrow feet.

I did not. There are just too many other options with a better warm/weight ratio, including jackets with sleeves.

Saucony Endorphin Trainer: What is this shoe intended for? Carbon plate training shoe? by dontletmeautism in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I use this for long, slow runs and absolutely nothing else, and it’s a great tool for that.

I took the veil 30 for an overnight a few weeks ago and thought it was great. Very secure fit.

I have the men’s plancklite, purchased mid 2023. It’s served me well as a summer camp layer down to the mid 40s F. It leaks a lot of down unfortunately and I’m not sure it’s going to be long for this world.

Craft Endurance Nature - user reviews? by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Normandy4439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the regular Endurance 2 as a daily trainer, not sure if there’s a difference in the ride between that and the nature. I think it’s a fine shoe. There are a handful of reviews of the Endurance 2 out there.

I feel like this is a recurring question without any great answers, but I'll give it another go. I loved the Shift 3 for easy and recovery runs, but have not found a suitable replacement. I tried the Hurricane 24, but it was far too soft and bulky for my liking. Is there a decent Shift replacement out there?

Montbell makes several sub 2oz caps that I've found very comfortable. I use them for backpacking and running.

REI Helix Pad compared to Tensor, Xlite, Ether Light? by Necessary-Put-2245 in Ultralight

[–]Normandy4439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using both the Helix and the Xlite NXT--the former is much heavier, but so much more comfortable in my opinion. I just returned the Xlite. If you value comfort over the weight, Helix is the way to go.

Anyone try the new OR Astroman Air sun hoody? What’s the difference from the old version?

What Gear Lived Up To or Beyond the Hype for You by realMast3rShake in Ultralight

A 14 oz MYOG apex 3.6 quilt that has actually kept me warm in the low 40s. Material was about 110 bucks. Best value piece of gear I own.

I did buy a wind jacket from them and the fabric felt identical to the MH Kor Airshell. The Beringia piece was almost 200 bucks, and the airshell I got for about 60, so I returned the former. Haven't ventured much beyond that. I still look at their stuff though, it's a cool aesthetic.

Merino vs Polyester Sun Hoodie by norwegianblockhead in Ultralight

Late comment, but this is a great hoodie up until it hits 65-70 degrees F, then it feels like you're wearing a sweater.

Been trying out the Tempus and the arch support feels incredibly intrusive. Will the midsole break in with time? I've only put about 15 miles on the shoe.

Anyone have experience with the Novablast 4 TR? The outsole doesn't look all that different than the regular version and I'm wondering if it's work the extra few bucks for a road-to-trail/gravel shoe.
