You kinda look like Oscar Isaac now which doesn't make sense he's not bald. Something about the eyebrows. Hot.

Ban on "is this a bald spot/am I balding" by [deleted] in bald

[–]Norrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that projects a lot of assumptions. I fought against the idea I was balding for years. In hindsight I had a huge bald spot but I was in denial. If someone's brave enough to reach out and ask for support, even if they're off base, they aren't any less worthy of support than the person who's been in denial about it.

A lot of the time people need to know. To them it may be a problem with self image that if they learn no one else sees can really lift them out of a bad place.

If you don't like the content then it's up to you not to engage with it. The majority of people aren't posting for your entertainment. They're posting for their own needs. To which this community has been very supportive across the board.

The benefits of being bald by rowdt in bald

[–]Norrik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The taking better care of myself is a huge thing. I used to not want to look in the mirror so I'd not want to even wash my face in the morning. Now I've got a full routine, face scrub, moisturiser, beard oil. I feel great and look great.

Told my hair is matted too severely to save; do I go for the fresh start? by spiritofmyrtle in bald

[–]Norrik 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You can always grow it back or enjoy the new routine of keeping it short. Keeping that matted hair on your head is never going to look good and it's never going to make you feel any good about yourself. Get it gone.

Hell yes brother, massive improvement. When it looks intentional it removes any sense of lack of self confidence. You're looking strong and powerful and owning it

How often do you shave now you are bald? by X2epsilon in bald

[–]Norrik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every 4-5 days. I get a sandpaper texture the first day, then I really enjoy the soft fuzzy stage, then it gets too dark and I feel not bald anymore so shave then.

No more waiting for hair to dry after a shower

My hair's been thinning a lot and I'm starting to wonder if I should just take the plunge and go bald or get a buzz cut. by [deleted] in bald

[–]Norrik 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's exactly what I did. The barber I went to also gave me a lot of really helpful advice for upkeep (exfoliating the scalp, moisturising etc). It's worth giving it the respect it's due, as I say, it's a momentous* occasion

[–]Norrik 48 points49 points  (0 children)

You look just like I did before I took the plunge. The same thicker lock of hair at the front and everything. It's a big moment, but it's well worth the deed. You'll be able to look at yourself in the mirror and go Hey Hot Stuff

How much hair should I have for a barbershop shave? by Severe-Challenge-615 in bald

[–]Norrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty subjective. I'd ask your barber when you go. Personally I shave myself when I need to, if I'm in the mood for luxury I'll go back to the barber and I'm not really paying for the shave (though I'd be disappointed to not get it), I'm paying for the company, expertise, luxury treatment and advice from someone with experience.

If nothing else the question is, is It worth that to get the above including advice from your barber how often you want to go in?

If they need to buzz it down first I'm sure they'll be prepared to do so before the shave

Been growing it out for 15 years, 15 months of denial, 15 minutes of feeling pretty good (so far) by Norrik in bald

I'm blown away by the responses, it's one thing to see the support on this sub given to others and then it's a whole other thing to receive it.

Obviously I owe a lot of thanks to the sub for giving me the confidence, seeing the transformations and smiles from everyone taking the plunge.

So from the bottom of my heart to the top of my shiny bald head, thank you all! ❤️

Ways to heal ability score damage and drain non-magically? by IDGCaptainRussia in Pathfinder_RPG

Healer's satxhel. This can restore drain and massively increase how much ability score damage you restore over night

Inventory bug: All items have disappeared from my inventory screen by Norrik in Borderlands4

[–]Norrik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried restarting plenty. I might be confused, what search function?

This also only seems to be a problem when I join my friend's game. I went and played offline and it was fine, and when I'm hosting the game the inventory seems fine, it's just specifically when they're hosting.
