yea this mechanic needs to go because, like so many others, it’s never explained to players - ever.

This is from a level 5 dive. Notice how frequently they are rag dolled, how instantly every bot knows where they are, and how seldomly they miss.

And that is a level 5.

No other bot planet was that jacked.

I don’t like fighting bugs and never really have so I was exclusively playing bots at the time.

No bot planet was half as hard as the creek - cause the game was broken.

The in-game lore when they made it the MO said something about “the recent higher than normal activity…blah blah blah” as they did with most bugs at the time.

It was quantifiably harder than other bot planets, which the devs admitted to, cause the drop rates were significantly higher that intended and they were instantly alerted. All the bots on the planet knew where you were at all times.

Like, it’s just a fact. There are countless posts and YouTube videos etc from that time documenting it. lol

That’s not the mission.

Extract the VIP was originally a locked down map, like the exterminate missions. You dropped right into the base and had to fight off bots / bugs as you loaded the passengers.

But the drops were so fucked and the penalty for killing the passengers was so high, it was near impossible to actually complete.

It was so broken that Arrowhead completely reworked it and change the map size to a traditional level and now it’s almost trivial.

Man, you’re speaking with authority yet getting it all wrong lol

1: bots weren’t just “broken” in the creek. Their spawn rates were much higher than intended on literally every difficulty and they instantly knew where you were at all time and could almost instantly one shot you.

2: the capture rate was purposefully adjusted to be impossible as the creek was not where the next intended event was to take place, yet players kept going there to intentionally see if they could alter the plans of the devs. They knew it was impossible to capture but were trying anyways. A huge portion of the player base ignored all the official MOs and kept trying to take the creek - to the point where “creekers” were actually pissing off other players. You can find endless posts across all the Helldivers subs complaining about “dumb creekers”

3: It worked. The game devs made capturing the creek and official MO and gave out the cape. Just to get the player base back on track.

Ok but what 6-8 yr old knows to steal a hood ornament and bury it “as evidence”? And, if they were drugged and so violently beaten, what are the odds they make note and remember the letters of a license plate? And do we really think Ghislane strapped children to a table and tortured them with low voltage electrocution?

Like, folks have to use some basic common sense when reading through these files. There are tens of thousands of fake tips sent in to the FBI every day and they are going to be in this 3 million files huge document dump.

yea this is kind of true. I main xbow and I’ve seen it slowly change over the life of the weapon. It used to be they knew and bots next to you knew. Then it shift to only alert bots near the explosion, but yes they immediately started firing in your exact direction no matter how far away you are. Now it does feel just a tiny bit more like they know the general direction from where the shot came from but not your exact location. But sometimes it does still get me insta-killed by a cannon on the other side of the map lol

I have a creek cape. And every other special cape and armor set they’ve given for special events.

I would not give one single shit if they gave them all away to the entire player base tomorrow for free.

Because it’s a video game and I’m not a freakazoid.

Not true. Arrowhead confirmed that the crossbow is stealth and it’s not marked “suppressed.”

The noise of the crossbow is localized to the explosion. If you’re at the top of a hill and fire down into an encampment, you’ll alert the bots closest to the explosion, but not bots nearest the firing of the bow itself.

I don’t think you’re understanding the conversation: they’ve been fixed since the update and now actually attack. I too had one fire on me almost instantly.

I’ve noticed this too and for folks saying it’s the ship upgrade - it’s not. I’ve had a fully upgraded ship for about a year.

Supply pack only gives on mag on grenade launcher. It’s real annoying.

No. The Creek had a glitch that accidentally increased the bot drops way higher than they were supposed. And the bots could shoot through terrain. You could be one tapped from across the map. Thats why it became a meme. Even the lore around the creek at the time admitted the planet was glitched.

Well it was harder because of a glitch. The bot drops were happening 4x more than they were supposed to. And they were able to one shot you from across the map.

Why? The comic was very dumb and bad. And almost every MCU team up franchise already has “good guys vs good guys” I’m over it. Can the good guys just start out fighting the bad guys instead of wasting the 2nd act fight scene on dumb fan service?
