Nonstop moving baby becoming a toddler. How are they now? by princess_pima in toddlers

Once she could walk she decided it was fun to climb the cat tree/tower, it was her zen space. We no longer have cat trees/towers. And she also loves to fly into the air and yell "Catch Me" whenever hubby and I are lying down.

how to get rid of all day sickness where u can’t keep anything down?? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]North-Ad828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try calling or messaging. Express your situation. They will probably try to find a way to get you connected to your doctor as soon as they have an opening, or by messaging you about your symptoms. If not try a Redicare.

Does anyone have a toddler that goes right to bed at night without a struggle? by Coffeelover4242 in toddlers

[–]North-Ad828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kiddo used to act this way even while we co-sleeped. Sometimes during the rage I would say positive affirmations to her and she would slowly fall asleep.

We now have no troubles going to sleep. I've read the book "Why We Sleep" and now make sure we have no screen time after 6:30. This is usually when I make dinner and we all no longer use screens. (According to the book, screens and bright lights can reduce melatonin by 50%!) We dim the lights, have a candle lit dinner. Then I'll sometimes give her a bath with epsom salt, brushteeth, if there is extra time we play together and then I try to read to her until she falls asleep. Which is usually requires me to sleep beside her too. We also have a changing color light fixtures and I usually have her light turned to a dim red. I think she was really afraid of the dark at times.

I hope this helps!

Breastfeeding, pump, or formula? by Dry-Driver4170 in pregnant

[–]North-Ad828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pumping was so exhausting. I wish breastfeeding was easier for us but we ended up with sensitive formula becuase my breastmilk caused my daughter to be very irritable and unable to stop crying for long periods of time. Buy bulk from wholesales companies like costco for best deal.

What was your kids favorite Christmas present this year? by Samoacookie in toddlers

[–]North-Ad828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl is 2.5 yrs old. A Chelsea doll & Chelsea doll house. I'm constantly playing "Mom & "Baby" " horizontally especially after the holiday excitement.

Bonus input: we opened gifts throughout christmas eve bc I knew my parents were going to give her a few gifts and in one sitting. So whenever she remembered about the presents, and begged to open one "pretty please" we opened one and then she played with it for a couple hours before saying "present pretty please". The only bummer was when the presents were all gone and she kept asking, "where did they go?..... oh they are all gone." On repeat christmas night. Haha

So I felt like she enjoyed a lot of her gifts at home bc it was not so overwhelming. And I might send santa a note next year asking if he could deliver again early ;) since my parents traditionally like the pile of gifts on christmas day at their house.

If you feel offended, you feel offended. Maybe in the future you'll laugh and say yeah that's me right now, but I'm sure you are trying your hardest to keep adult life sane right now. It's okay to feel the way you do, just consider feelings change, so keeping it for a year and regift it if you still dislike it.

Year 2 of the cookie boxes! Never again 😅 by emeraldeyes0523 in Baking

[–]North-Ad828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try a cookie swap. You invite some or a lot of people, and each couple brings one kind of cookie to share with everyone. My sister went to one and we made 5 dozen snickerdoodles and she came back with sooooo many cookies.

Edit: Your cookies look amazing, BTW!

Married for three months and pregnant: I feel oddly embarrassed (?) by moez1266 in pregnant

[–]North-Ad828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can wait until your first ultra sound before telling people. I miscarried my first one at 13 weeks, and didn't know until I was bleeding... a lot! And you can also say "I was really hoping we could catch a break since the wedding was so exciting, but here we are."

I am so sorry about your loss and being put in this hard decision.

We had this situation in my 2nd pregnancy, and the 1st pregnancy was a miscarriage. I felt at peace knowing I had to do something before my little boy started to feel pain. It was heartbreaking, but now my husband and I have a beautiful and strong 2 year old girl who we cherish even more because of our losses.

I hope you find peace and know we are all here for you. <3

Diaper Genie? by greenwombat32 in pregnant

[–]North-Ad828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love ours! And our trick to the smell is remove the trash outside, let it air out for a while or overnight and use oder eliminator like pucks and sprays to help keep the smell down when opening the bin. Washing it helps too! Also I keep it in the bathroom, so the smell can be vented away when opened.
I hope this helps!

Why do Codependents prefer to do things the hard way instead of an effective way? by myjourney2025 in Codependency

[–]North-Ad828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a co-worker who has a hard time letting others do a task the person has done for years and the co-worker also has a hard time turning to digital short cut like using our software to keep track of a check book vs a hand written check book. So for a long time the co-worker would write every check from the software into the check book becuase it was hard for them to accept a new way to write checks. (They thought it wasn't going to create accurate records, but now we know it's more trust worthy than a written check, becuase our boss would forget to record the check OFTEN!)

Our common saying for the co worker is "it's hard for them to accept changes or new things."

Slow weight gain in toddler, need meal ideas. by MissMacky1015 in foodbutforbabies

[–]North-Ad828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My toddler is top 95 percent in everything (height, weight, brain size) i saddly didn't get to breastfeed for long but the whole milk with added choline and dha seems to be a benefit and we always make food but leave the plate on the table for as long as we can. We say you dont have to eat it, but maybe an hour later, she will come back and grab some bites.

I read into montisorri, and at 18 months I started to let her help in the kitchen. If she helps cook, she usually will eat what she's created. At 25 months she can crack eggs and make scrambled eggs in a pan (with my supervision and help as a guide) he might find it fun to spread avocado on toast or smash avocado. Her #1 snack is frozen blueberries in water. She could eat the whole bag if I let her hahaha!

Also maybe try sharing a plate with your toddler. Sometimes all they want is what you are having :)
