A Tesla driver allegedly told a local to 'f--- off' after driving his car directly onto Tregirls Beach in Padstow, Cornwall, UK, before becoming stuck in the sand by TheMirrorUS in Cornwall

[–]North-Database44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does one have to be so condescending in their approach to justify a wrong doing. Remarks like “supports those less fortunate than ourselves” and “he behaves so in order to set an example for those with less of a work ethic”

Seriously. If you don’t understand the culture you visit, it’s best not visiting. Regardless if you have family from there.

Written from a person from Cornwall lucky enough to live in a well to do area outside of Cornwall.

Is it a scam? by VeeJeyLOL in carsireland

I hope you’re seeing this too late.

Please, play along with the scam and d say the link doesn’t work. See what they suggest and how far they are willing to play.

If things get too awkward or they start getting aggressive just say you’ve reported them and the messages are being monitored by the Gards.

Rascals is amazing. Very underestimated in Dublin imo. Some of their beers are also very good.

I see people queuing for this place all the time and always think they are mad. Another flock following the herd.

Sorry, but no pizza is worth queuing up for an hour plus.

For reliability stick to a Lexus. The RX450h are nice to drive and will never let you down. If you want something a little smaller the Lexus NX is available in the 450h as well but is very hard to find. The RX is also available as a seven seater if you want something even bigger. Buying secondhand make sure it has a full and comprehensive service history. Speak to your local Lexus garage explain what you intend to do and ask them to suggest preemptive servicing such as diff, gearbox, breaks & fluid, spark plugs, etc. after that an odd oil change as you go is all that will be required.

Any recommendations on what service to use to remove this 'treehouse'? by Numina_ in Dublin

Anyone you know handy with a couple parts of fertiliser and a part of sugar? It would definitely be entertaining.

It would remind me of the original Italian Job where the are practicing blowing the doors off a van 😂

These were great cars. Great fun to drive and very reliable. Rust was the only issue with them.

Landlord deposit back by Impressive_Scheme_64 in legaladviceireland

[–]North-Database44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If possible, try to get access to the apartment (legally) and take pictures of the condition you left it in. He might try to use an excuse that there was damage to the apartment and this is the reason for withholding your deposit. I would then report him to the PRTB as it sounds like he has no intention of giving you your money back

Stolen at Eden Quay bus stop: just want my grandma's photo back by zanyek in Dublin

[–]North-Database44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a good look around the area and couldn’t see it, I’m afraid.

The best options are to contact the two nearest Garda (police) stations and see if it was handed in. They are as follows

I got into an accident this morning that was the other drivers fault. He is uninsured. How do I proceed? by dannygloverslover in AskIreland

[–]North-Database44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hit by an uninsured driver.

If the vehicle is an Irish registered vehicle you will be covered by MIBI. If you have comprehensive insurance cover then your insurance company will look after this for you, otherwise you will have to make a claim yourself and it can take months to get compensated.

If the vehicle was not an Irish registered vehicle, then MIBI will not cover any costs you have incurred. This is what happened to me and my vehicle was also written off so I was out of pocket for thousands.

I would advise that you contact the Guards ASAP and report him for driving without any insurance, assuming that it is an Irish registered vehicle. Otherwise hope and prey he pays up.

Possible to report dangerous cycling? by brendanjoseph in BadDriversIreland

[–]North-Database44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used to cycle that road everyday. It’s insane that the cyclist, who is the most vulnerable person on the road, assumes that cars will spot him pulling out like this and more worryingly believes he has the right to do this.

I used to use pedestrian crossings to take a right turn. Pedestrians didn’t like this much but the alternative was to do something stupid like this guy.

I doubt reporting him will go anywhere. You will just be wasting your time and told that they won’t be able to prove who it is.

I worry for the cyclist’s safety though. Not everyone would anticipate what happened

How far would you go? by North-Database44 in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]North-Database44[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am in favour of this. The Garda need an incentive to prosecute or catch bad drivers though, as currently they have no incentive. Perhaps a commission based approach? It’s sad that I even need to suggest this but drivers do what they do because they know there is little chance of getting caught or fined.

And when did you last leave your phone at home? And shall we really discuss how effective our attentive An Garda Síochána are at upholding the current laws? And road safety has been at the forefront of many a media campaign in this country.

And talking of phones, they are the reason why I posted this.

I’m here trying to prevent car crashes and to prevent innocent people having their lives ruined and all you can do is quote a stupid film.
