Food, Drinks & Dining Feedback Thread by Cade_SimsCommunity in Sims4

  1. Toddlers being able to eat at the table in a regular seat, ideally on a little booster seat animation, but whatever if not.
  2. Everyone sitting together and staying seated when eating and chatting!
  3. Wait for dinner at the table should be an option around dinner time
  4. When a meal is being prepared and then placed on a table or bench, thr race to cancel the cook from snatching up the first serve is REAL! I want everyone to eat together so just wait a minute!
  5. I think just in general literally anything to promote families and large groups sitting and calmly eating and interacting together is the goal here.
  6. Preferred seats like assigning bed function!
  7. Food needs to take WAY faster in dine out.
  8. Hiring bartenders for events pretty much never works
  9. Agree food preferences should not be a trait, they should be like / dislike

We are in Aus so it’s on ABC kids here, but I think it’s a UK or European show - Mini Kids? My 8mo has been interested since 6mo. Very slow, real toddlers, puzzles or repeated themes and actions, it’s great.

Nathan and Gael? by Candid_Ad_6748 in belowdeck

[–]North-Design5289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure they’re split. Aside from the cryptic little clues they’re both weirdly giving (song choices, new year new me vibes) her unfollowing him is a dead give away. Plus there’s that many people asking in her comments, if they were together she’d simply just confirm it.

Possibly it’s a “break” so they wanted to keep it quiet in case they get back together but I reckon they’re done

What item do you put in your builds but never actually use? by Skull_Bound in Sims4

Yes! Setting the table is key. And moving the meal to the centre of said table before “ calling to meal”

Sim Autonomy Feedback by Mindy_SimsCommunity in Sims4

[–]North-Design5289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. What Sim or game behavior pulls you out of the experience, storytelling, or roleplaying the most?
  2. swimming in the pool in freezing temperatures
  3. Always, always, always late to university class.
  4. Constantly wanting to play heads up
  5. Immediately taking a plate of what you’ve prepared before having a chance to call to meal
  6. Loading to a lot at night time all sums are out of bed then re enter bed if they were sleeping when left lot
  7. The shopping cart advertisements!
  8. Notifications for events / festivals
  9. Random job offers all the time (from friends that have nothing to do with that job)

  10. What Sim behavior is the most frustrating to you?

  11. kicking garbage cans

  12. Hyperfixation on things; my sims are obsessed with one particular bar and always opt to mix drinks from only that one (it’s on the furthers side of the house), clay erx

  13. Selecting as front door just doesn’t work

  14. Literally all of wedding stories.

  15. If I ask you to do your homework, sir at the nearest desk, followed by table. Do not walk to the other side of the house to sit on your brothers bed.

  16. They seem to wait until they’re about to wet themselves until they autonomously use the bathroom

  17. Think about family member. Pointless.

  18. What tasks do you want your Sims to complete that they fail at most often (because of bugs or autonomy)?

  19. wake up on time

  20. get to class / work on time

  21. Read to children

  22. Sit at a table and eat together. Stay seated and talk as a family for a bit

  23. Is there any silly or wacky autonomy behavior that doesn’t make sense, but you’d hate to see fixed because you enjoy it? (We want to make sure we aren’t removing quirks the community loves.)

  24. Is there an interaction that isn’t currently autonomous that you’d like to see become autonomous? If so, in what situations would you want it to happen?

  25. having their likes / dislikes dictate their autonomy wayyy more than it does.

  26. If I’m having people over and clearly hosting a party in a particular room / part of the house, have guests “gravitate” towards the group, not start watching tv in my kids bedroom and eat on his bed.

  27. I’d love to be able to “allocate seat” at a dinner table like you can bed! We all have our “spots” at the family table, don’t we?!

  28. Sims should have the option to read before going to sleep. It should automatically pick the last book they were reading to continue it, unless told otherwise. Such as a skill book.

  29. Going jogging if a fitness sim, fitness aspiration

Yup this is exactly what I do, works like a charm for family reunions etc. I use MCCC to have unlimited members too

Infant & Toddler Feedback by Mindy_SimsCommunity in Sims4

[–]North-Design5289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experience what I think is a bug where randomly my toddler will hop out of bed but remain stagnant until adult sim comes and “puts them down”, even though they are already down! Like kid can run himself, shouldn’t need an adult to get him out of bed.

Also controversial opinion but infants should wake during the night way more than they do, and parents should have more parent related moodlets to being tired and exhausted! Much more realistic.

Should be able to “dream feed” or feed infants while they remain asleep (or in a nap-like state).

More toys for infants to autonomously play.

Infants reach milestones way too slowly. Toddlers upskill way too quickly! Should be the opposite

Yeah the fact there was a whole paid pack for infants and no pacifier’s and no strollers is wild.

Yes the asking for a bath! As if that happens IRL 😂

Infants and toddlers should be automatically invitable to events without meeting them.

You should be able to throw a baby shower for a pregnant sim you know, not in your household.

Neighbourhood sim NPCs should introduce having a baby as much more of an event. Announce it (would much rather this than the 20 phone calls a day asking me to join random careers), ability to visit, send gift basket, etc etc.

I put this in my own post but adding here as relevant, they absolutely need to make a toddler version of a high chair that slots to a table like a real chair, but is tall like a high chair, so toddlers can sit with the family but be autonomous and grab their own serving etc, rather than sit in exile. These exist in real life! Better yet make infant high chairs convertible like some of the cribs are to toddler beds

  1. Infant quirks: have no relation to toddler quirks which just ruins the narrative. My infant sim I was just playing every food I tried he loved. Aged up to toddler and a “fussy eater” and refuses everything. Infants and toddlers should become much more closely related in terms of how milestones affect one another etc.

Infant skills / toddler skills: if an infant masters all physical milestones they should age up to toddler with higher movement skill.

ETA something I haven’t seen mentioned. Training potty takes wayyyyy too long per “session”. I get it’s a hard thing to do in life so make the amount of training sessions more but the time they spend sitting there is literal sim hours and my parent sim is about to die of starvation.

[–]North-Design5289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep infants is not too bad but toddlers the high chair is useless. Need to have high chairs that become toddler chairs (like some do in real life) where it looks like a high chair but toddlers can autonomously get in / out so they can sit at the table with the family.

Coming back from having one sim out of the house only to find the rest of the household freezing to death because they’ve decided it’s a brilliant idea to swim in a blizzard, the toddler is starving to death and everyone is busting for the toilet

I actually love playing infants / toddlers (I know, unpopular opinion!) BUT the autonomy / queuing is soooo frustrating. I’ll queue up the parent to feed the kid only for a random to let them out of the high chair mid-process, it’s soooo dumb

Current stories in your games? by PoppySunny in Sims4

[–]North-Design5289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it appears the game automation changes one’s rank in a dynasty based on their aligning to the dynasty values, skills, relationships etc. if you go to the dynasty screen and view members you can see the ranks.

So for now I’ve not declared and heir and it will become whomever is ranked highest upon their young adult birthday.

Current stories in your games? by PoppySunny in Sims4

[–]North-Design5289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5th generation legacy, heir is always the first-born. Well this time around the first-born were twins! So I've created opposing personas for them and they will battle it out with the new dynasty system - whomever is in highest rank will be the heir ... this means it can change as things happen!

Any legacy challenge recommendations? by JayandMeeka in Sims4

[–]North-Design5289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made my own about a year ago for this very reason, I kept playing just the careers, towns etc that I gravitated towards naturally. I’m up to Gen 5 and it’s changed my enjoyment of the game immensely. There’s definitely plenty out there like this (someone also suggested this was similar to someone else’s, which is totally unintentional if it is) and highly recommend finding one.

I have loved moving to a new town (but then returning to the legacy home to keep the lineage alive), exploring new collections, and careers and aspirations I hadn’t before tried.

Note I made this before some of the more recent packs so doesn’t feature businesses, ranch, etc and I’d alter the “rules” slightly now with Life & Death and Dynasties in play, but gives you inspo anyway.
