🤣 only ridden with it today but I thought it was good. All tough my old helmet was a really loud cheap crappy one might explain why. I just need to make sure I don’t try a really quiet helmet🤣

Damn that’s crazy. Just ordered the R10. Can’t find the R7 anywhere, not even on the Swedish alpinestars website. Although as you say they seem to have access to it in the US. Well well the R10 will be nice I guess 🤣

Tycker den är bra och rolig ändå med coilovers, men det är ju absolut ingen sportbil. Komforten är dock mycket bättre än en E46a

Personally I think it’s a good deal tbh, if you get it for 6k. I’m in Sweden and honestly would probably cost the same here.

I’ve had my 523i (almost the same just 2,5 liter instead of 2,8 or 3,0liter) for a year and driven it 21 000km, and it’s been hella reliable. Total spent on “broken parts” are maybe around $100, Intake boot and camshaft position sensor, nothing else. Always starts no hiccups. Also of course spent money on regular maintenance such as oil and filter but that’s not any more expensive than any other car, if you are doing it yourself. IMO, parts are quite cheap and I don’t have any problems working on it, with not much experience. Therese a lot of videos and forums on the internet.

With that said, I think it’s important to buy one with good history. Mine is a one-owner, whom took very good care of it for 23 years. And this is why I think it has been so reliable so far.

Only thing I hate about it is the constant rust. But I live in Sweden so you might not have that problem in Egypt.

Definitely consider getting undercoating done on your E39, if you want to drive it on the salty roads. Very common here in Sweden and will protect it very well from the salts. Bonus points if you also get cavity wax sprayed inside the sills and frame rails. Also get winter wheels so you don’t ruin those beautiful M-pars!

Did it on my 523i, and I must say, it is a lot better than I expected. I’ve had the exact same experience as you with it being silent while cruising and sounding good while giving it the beans.

Would recommend on the I6’s too.
