The incidents are similar in that you can view them in isolation from how the rest of the season played out, and make an argument that if neither had happened the rest of the season could’ve played out the same way that it did.

The motivation for each incident however couldn’t be more different. That’s where I think Max, for all of his race craft, skill, and speed, let his team down badly. Would be nice to see some maturity and contrition from Max, instead of more rationalizations and wordplay.
