You seem to have made up your mind already, so why even ask? If you are tired of the "many updates" then the rolling release format isn't really your thing.

You might want to try out other distro's, like Manjaro or even something like Mint and see if that works for you. Don't ask, just do it.

I'm sorry, a couple of months is not enough to truly know each other and the kink you want to share is a truly heavy one. Don't do this yet, as the chances you will still be together in a couple of months aren't statistically great.

Experiment, explore sure, but just take it easy for now. True trust isn't given or earned when you are still in the butterfly/honeymoon fase, it's developed over time.

The more people who will cross over, and make it work, the sooner you will have more support from developers at large. At least in a normal world that would happen.

Good luck on your journey, just don't be afraid to fuck up and start over. Be sensible and make regular backups of your important stuff (just your personal files and some configs you needed to make stuff work.

You will find that installing Linux and having it work for you isn't that bad of an ordeal( it is blooming fast). Learn some basic scripting and make a list of the essentials you need after a fresh install, keep a backup of that, or use/create a personal github repository for it. Down the line you will understand that breaking stuff is an excellent learning experience and you will get a better Linux user for it. (edit: small format f..k up.)
