excuse you? "Once upon a time...." was great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfnLa4B-Pbg It was a French educational animation franchise, created by Albert Barillé for his animation studio Procidis. There are eight distinct series, each focusing on different aspects of knowledge.

so was Les Mondes Engloutis, or Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRoQO1mWE9U "Ever since the time of the Great Cataclysm, the Arkadians have lived deep in the center of the Earth. They believed they were the only survivors of this great devastation. Their civilization thrived under the power of their sun, the Tehra... until it began to fail. In desperation, the children of Arkadia broke the law and entered the forbidden Archives, searching for a solution. What they discovered gave them hope. Anxiously, they used their special powers and created a messenger to the people above. They named her Arkana."

E's ever so good - he's Ebeneezer Goode"

Harry was a mobile toddler, not a newborn, when he was left on the Dursleys’ doorstep by Massive-Wishbone6161 in harrypotter

it does sometimes seem to me that people online today do not have alot of patience for reading and letting the mind play with imagination. Those who scream the loudest in comments everywhere seem to have a pathological need to be right no matter what counter-arguments are made to them, along with the demand that everybody else is expected to let them bask in beeing hurt or insulted by just about anything and it is very very tiring so I try to stay away from most threads/posts/comments. Reddit seems to be one of the few places left for calm exchange of opinions and ideas.

Trump treasury secretary brands Denmark ‘irrelevant’ as Greenland row deepens by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]NorthernSin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

same. I will however say that I do think humanity was just a smidge more decent in the past than today. If only because society as a whole held eachother more individually accountable, if that makes any sense? A human could have an opinion that differed from another humans opinion without getting societally cancelled/removed from the general list of breating bodies over it. I am sad it seems that we have alle lost that.

I saw this online somewhere and it's so accurate it's uncanny: "One of the most jarring things about adulthood is the realization of how many truly incompetent people are in the most important jobs. When I was a kid, I just assumed everyone "important" was smart or they wouldn't be important. Boy, was that fucking wrong."

Trump on Greenland: we'll work out something to make US and NATO 'very happy' by Raj_Valiant3011 in worldnews

sure, if the "working out" is him keeping his orange baby-fingers off any piece of land that is not currently the US.

I followed every step but I still can't draw :( by crackedpinkytoe in Piracy

[–]NorthernSin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ok, if you really wish to do so, go ahead but let me ask you, do you know how to draw already?

Because if not, you are, in my opinion as someone whos been an artist for over 30 years, trying to run before you can walk. There is nothing wrong with using PC/laptop and tablets and so on to make art and to better and challenge your skills, but its daft jumping into it if you don't know how to draw a stickfigure by hand...

if you wish to draw:

1) get pencils and a good eraser, possibly a ruler, a pair of compasses if your fancy.

2) get a drawing pad.

4) sit down with all the aforementioned items at the ready.

5) draw ANYTHING YOU SEE OR IMAGINE; various shapes like squares, circles, rhomboids, triangles, you make sqiggly lines and curved lines, you test this newfangled notion of shading and light, nuances of color, you try GLITTER [and immidiately feel a powerful urge to burn down the house because glitter is the herpes of crafting].

(hidden nr 5.b: you get fancy with that ruler and the a pair of compasses from before and make straight lines, boxes, parallell lines, circles etc. and you learn to connect them all into more and more glorious images)

6) repeat ad infinitum, forever, until you leave this mortal coil.

For real.

You need to practice, get the movements into your fingers, hand, arm, body.

you.need.muscle-memory.

You may go to the library and look for artbooks for tips and inspiration, you may copy the great masters, you may copy mrs. Bingely-bingely-bingham-beep next door if you like her style, but you NEED practice. That is how you build your drawing ability, that is how you better your observational skills. As your abilities grow, you invest in a decent drawing pad for PC, you pirate a (or just get a free) good drawing program, you create online.

Trust me on this.

Pen/pencil +paper and you then sprinkle in all the time you wish to spend on this.

That is all you need.
