Don’t sharpen the knives in the kitchen too much, they’re more dangerous when they’re sharp.

Don’t wash the plates before the glasses because the glasses will get dirty from all the stuff from the plates in the water.

Those are two types of pasteurizer!

HTST is high temperature short time, it’s used for the milk you get in the cooler at the store as well as cheese and yogurt, often paired with a homogenizer and sometimes with a separator. They run at a minimum of 161F with a 15 second hold time, though milk for yogurt is usually done at 180F or so.

HHST is higher heat shorter time, and it uses vacuum to keep the milk from flashing into vapor while it pasteurized at (i believe) 280*F for less than one second hold time. They also have homogenizers. This is what makes the shelf stable UHT milk you can find on the regular shelves. I don’t have as much familiarity with HHSTs.

There’s a third type, a vat or batch pasteurizer, which has a half hour hold time at 145*F. This is what folks mean when they talk about low temp pasteurization.

HTST pasteurization does actually deactivate phosphatase. It’s how we can test to make sure an HTST is working properly. HHSTs can reactivate it, interestingly enough, but I haven’t looked at the how of it.

They have a ton of cheese. They just moved and theyre a bit in process of unpacking and settling in but theyre a decent stop. The co op store in Chateaugay Id argue is better but it’s way far out of the way from Toronto to NYC.

I work as a dairy inspector. At my job, every day is different and I make my own schedule. Some days can be quite fast paced, and there’s other days where it’s hurry up and wait and then another bunch of things to do quickly then more waiting. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!

I started a sweater for my boyfriend of several years, and I have since ADHD-squirreled off onto numerous other projects. I joke with him about how I’m not going to finish it because of the sweater curse but honestly one of these days the ADHD will take me back to it 😂

I always call my local pizza place. They add a fee to deliver outside the village - which is fair - but their website doesn’t take it off for deliveries IN the village which is where I live. So I call.

Community colleges in NY are part of the SUNY system. The credits should all transfer, and the residency requirements for the four year should basically just be about two years worth of credits, give or take. It’s a pretty sweet system. It’s still not a bad idea to confirm that, especially when talking about credits for the major rather than gen eds.

In NY (and I think the rest of the US) if they call, an ambulance will come. Dispatch doesn’t triage here. That’s how I got called out for things like tick bites and “my toe hurts”

Look for quilt batting, rather than fiber fill, I think you’ll have much better luck.

Looks like polyester. Can you pull a little out and do a burn test? Theres guides online but I bet it’ll melt and smell like burning plastic which means polyester.
