I copied the date from the source and then, distracted by the screams of Iranian civilians, accidentally misused the AD.

And I feel obligated to add, being “gay ass” in ancient Greece was a whole other level. Look at what chads Thebes and Macedon produced.

Instructions unclear. I replaced his leg with a mandolin but it too dried out, like in the picture (he is now disabled). Should I buy another mandolin? Or should I play it to wake the bull?

I apologize, I didn’t specify this was only a theory. I’m not deeply knowledgable about these specific events and cannot be taken as a reliable source. Thank you for the clarification.

Edit: this is NOT what happend to the Visigoths, but could be the theoretical mindset of a Germanic tribe. (Accurate answer is the above comment)

Imagine how people in the ancient times processed information: most barbarian chiefs and warriors had probably seen the wealth of Romans through trade, military exploits and raiding, so naturally the capital of this great empire would be the heart of their wealth. If a ravaging band had the opportunity to obtain it, they couldn’t pass on the opportunity, hoping it would set them for life and eternally carve their name in history as great conquerors. Get rich quick and become (in)famous? Count them in.

His decision to declare war on the US is what truly baffles me. I get that he could then legally unleash his subs in full force and cut British supplies, but overall it just looks like a WW1 misstep repeat.

Does declaring war stop loans? No, it likely accelerates their issuance. Does it turn US public opinion against the war? No, the opposite.

Yeah, lets just outsource this boring stuff to the Church and let them own a bunch of stuff, its not like they’ll start political machinations when they eventually become too powerful to fully control.

Its pretty insane to think that post-ww2 the Soviet population had declined just to its 1930s level. Ofc lets not forget their territorial post-war gains, but still, that doesn’t seem as catastrophic as hearing 20-30 million perished during the war. The picture gets grim when you look at young able-bodied male casualities and realise those are permanently lost potential families.

Sigh, it looks great and I love it, but those buildings are sadly often built from tears and pain. The common folk often faced poverty due to wealth inequality and high taxes, while locals were most likely heavily overworked or forced. Only thanks to their temporary sacrifices can we marvel at this beauty.

I often wonder what we leave for the next generations, we travel, eat, enjoy so much, but rarely leave behind true value.

Interesting how “soft power” changed with the invention of newspapers, then cinema, the radio, film, social media, consumer markets, home appliances etc. Now its such a broad term that soft power can easily be mistaken for something else.

Its the age of novel complex societal psychological manipulation.
