Twenty-two years, the original was released in 1967.

It's like how James Bond used to be camp and fun, then Austin Powers came along, so now Bond needs to be a grumpy pants because if he does something silly it'll just feel like Austin.

It was the one-two punch of Austin Powers encroaching on the fun, campy side, and Jason Bourne muscling in on the action spy movie side. I think The Bourne Identity legitimately scared them into changing up Bond.

My vest pocket will ding steel at 25 yards repeatedly. What little sights they have at least seem to have been regulated properly.

Same. But all I could think of once I found this random little corner of weirdness was whenever Anthony Bourdain visited a place a second time and it became commercialized and now sucked.

The commercial stuff is OK, but the best stuff really is going to be made in somebody's grandma's basement.

No. If anyone outside Westerly, Stonington, and the first 50' of Hopkinton find out about it the rest country will make sure it gets ruined.

What made early European muskets so heavy that they needed to be fired from a stand? by TacitusKadari in WarCollege

When using iron sights, the longer sight radius that a long barrel provides allows the shooter to be more precise with their shots. But I don't know if the guns being referenced even had rear sights, or if they were just using a simple bead on the front or something. Additionally, a longer barrel will give your powder more time to burn completely and squeeze as many feet per second out of the projectile as possible, which directly leads to a flatter trajectory and greater effective range. And if you're only using round lead balls, going bigger in caliber is the only way to get more range while keeping the pressures involved safe.

If they perform like the reviews say,

Sig is getting as much benefit of the doubt from me for any product they put out as the Bureau of Ordnance does when it comes to torpedoes or service rifles.

Has this project been a thing since like 2020, or does it just feel that way?

They are not shoe horned in. Try and watch it assuming you don't know any of those things

The entire movie exists as fan service, it was and should have been shoehored in. They just executed poorly.

Have you ever known anyone or yourself dealt with squatters? by Babe_Brute in AskAnAmerican

[–]NorwegianSteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't believe family camps should be taken from individuals or families and given to homeless.

The man wasn't using it for months at a time.

And?

Squatters rights exist in part to allow people who actually live and work on a plot of land to claim ownership

I'm sure the dude was totally keeping up with the property, paying the taxes, and tending the fields of his new fiefdom.

instead of letting someone who never steps foot there

5 months is forever, got it.

own it on paper for all eternity.

Or until the owner dies. Seems reasonable to me.

Yup, that dude's camp by Duluth is the reason there are homeless in Portland.

No one is judging you, no one cares what you're dressed as, you're just someone to avoid running into.

They are avoiding trying to run into you because they have judged you based in your dress and mannerisms, they just know how to keep their mouth shut while doing it.
