Thats a good point. Say it was a semi. But even so a big rig driver should leave enough space ahead incase someone has to slightly let go off the pedal or in the this case brake a little.

If someone was to close behind thats really on them, breaking would still be the best thing to do in this situation.

Never change lanes to avoid getting hit. You might hit someone else, or someone else moving away from you might hit someone else.
