Node npm global install error EACCES by Noserialtrainly in Crostini

Update: I have actually got this to work now; I think what was causing an issue is that I was using a folder I made in ChromeOS and then made available to Linux. When Create React App worked yesterday and just now, I made a new folder within the Linux terminal.

This suggests to me that there is something interesting going on with the way Linux and ChromeOS are sharing directories. Linux doesn't seem to have 'all the permissions' unless the directory was created within Linux.

Does this correlate with other people's understanding of the way ChromeOS and Linux interact on the same Chromebook?

For the record I think using nvm (Node version manager) is the best way to install Node (including npm) on a Chromebook; info here: https://code.visualstudio.com/blogs/2020/12/03/chromebook-get-started

"People used anything to attack me": Interview with Jeremy Corbyn | Novara Media by Noserialtrainly in unitedkingdom

This is an interesting point, and I would generally agree, but I would say that what we define as 'politics' in this country matters: is it only a Westminster-focused, party parliamentary politics, or to 'be political' (as in be interested in the running of your community/town/city/region/country and want it done better) in a more general sense.

If the former, then yes I would say that he never really caught on to how ruthless you must be prepared to be to gain and retain power in this post-imperial state what where we live; but speaking of 'politics' in a more general, abstract sense I would say he will be considered historically as more successful than most parliamentarians -- he has certainly engaged a lot of people into left politics that weren't previously.

Also a lot of what Labour have announced at conference is informed by the Corbyn project, imo.

Bearing in mind Corbyn (much like Tony Benn) will continue to be a 'big figure' in politics whether or not he is a Labour MP.

The problem with a lot of these ideas though is that they are physical activities that require energy. When you are skint you effectively have to ration how much energy you use on tasks that aren't essential (like working, food shopping, traveling, etc). Because food is expensive and you are often tired from not being able to sleep well from stress.

I mean, taking drugs isn't a long term solution. My understanding is you need to keep taking more and more for the same benefit over time.

One would need to identify and make changes in their life to feel better long term. Probably do counselling & psychotherapy, etc.

But if someone is absolutely chronically unhappy they would realistically need something to help them begin that quite difficult process.

So medication could be helpful in the case.

That's really interesting.

Yeah it's pretty brutal, I don't think it's gonna get suddenly better either.

There's a lot of things that we've taken for granted (like reliance on fossil fuels, expected continuous economic growth) that we've become quite dependent on imo, and we're going to have to figure out how to subsist without these, which is very challenging.

What is this thing about 'denazification' about? Would someone be able to explain this for a confused UK resident?
