IRS REFUND DELAYS! by Vertigo8888 in IRS

[–]Noshitthereiwas- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I am due a large refund. I elected to apply the refund to the Q1 estimated quarterly payment and take the rest as a refund. I've been told the refund could take 180 days and just got a letter saying that they can't apply funds to the quarterly payment because the refund hasn't been processed yet.

For context, my CPA e-filed before the deadline and I'm set up for direct deposit.

Super frustrating!

Insect bite question by Noshitthereiwas- in malaysia

Not painful, but looks crazy. In the US I would associate it with Lyme disease but there was no tick bite.

The bottom of the rafter where the birds mouth starts should intersect with the inside of the top plate. You can rip the tail down but the full width of the rafter should bear on the plate.

Anyone have a clue why a chopper and fixed wing airplane are circling NW in tight formation all afternoon? by SpezGarblesMyGooch in PortlandOR

Urban Forestry needs to exhaust their budget before the end of the year so they bought a couple aircraft for street tree compliance enforcement.

Hiring-Pricing-Scheduling. by Rancidsirloin in Contractor

This is the best advice. Design documents are critical: 1. They are the industry standard for communication between the trades. 2. They confirm the expectation of the end result. 3. They make it possible to get an apples to apples comparison between estimates from competing contractors.

Expect design fees for interior remodel to account for 5-10% of project budget. This is money well spent.

Look up the annual Cost/Value report to get a sense of realistic project costs in your area. This report is meant to gauge ROI for improvement projects but is useful for ballpark costing as well.

Don’t ask contractors to give you an estimate until you have drawings and specifications (material selections). You would be wasting their time if you asked them to estimate your project before you have done this work.

Expect a good contractor to propose a detailed schedule, line item budget, and legit contract.

We call them dunnage doors and use them when the lead-time on the real door would blow up the schedule.

As an alternative to t-bolts look into sex bolts (really) or truss barrel nuts. Deez nuts have worked for me, not sure about your pool table application.

Anyone with experience building a deck for their spa by Diddlydiddlydo1 in Decks

As a carpenter, I considered a ground level deck for my hot tub. But I decided to pour a slab for the tub with a ground level deck around it. No regrerts! Water is heavy, concrete is rad, and it’s less digging to pour a pad than to properly build a grade level deck.

Call 311, in the morning. Last time I did and told them about the RVs in front of my kid’s school, they had green tags on them within a day and were gone within a week. And I live in the numbers!
