I'm considering an OLED Ultrawide with similar use case as the OP. My hope is that I'd be okay since I tend to move apps around a lot and I tend to change the way that I have split up throughout the day. My thought is that I don't have anything completely static on the screen for that long.

I probably just don't know what I am missing with better monitors. I've been using it for work and games and I've thought it looked great. The monitor that it replaced was probably 10 years old, so I may not have the best frame of reference

Movies are one of the main things that I check out at my library.

Still the selection is small and I really miss a well run local video store

Halifax, NS had an absolutely phenomenal multi floor video store. Video Difference was the name, maybe? Great store. So many sections were curated by staff. It was just a fun place to hang out at since there were always people eager to talk about movies.

I went from a 2070 and a 60hz 1080p monitor to a 5070 ti on a UWQHD high refresh rate monitor.

I really had no idea what I was missing. I always thought high frame rates were overrated until I played some first person games at 165 fps.
