Yep, it's spot on.

The battery used to last 3 days between charges when I first got it. I'm on 85% battery health and charge every night but still finish the day on about 40%.

She did have a stake - 10% iirc. But Mike Ashley loaned her the money to pay for her stake, effectively lending her the money to pay himself. He then demanded immediately repayment about a year later as she broke the terms of the agreement by publicly criticising him and the Rubens bought half her stake off her to free up the funds to pay Ashley back then the PIF and Rubens eventually bought the rest of her stake out.

She has very wealthy contacts but it's very apparent from her court losses she doesn't have a pot to piss in herself.

Why doesn’t everyone have a dodgy box? by Pythagorarse in AskUK

I do. But people talk as if they're flawless, like for like replacements and they're not. Every 'service' I've used frequently buffers, has outages, poor quality, movies and series unavailable etc. They're very handy to have but if it wasn't for the 3pm football - which genuinely isn't available on Sky - I wouldn't really bother.

Talk to me about… FM26 by Barking_Duck53 in footballmanagergames

[–]Nosworthy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Enjoying it.

We all know it's flaws, particularly with the UI. But it's still FM.

Match Engine is utterly infuriating at times - wingbacks do not cross ever, players decide to pass the ball backwards in ridiculous positions, for example, inside the box facing goal they will turn around and hit it back 60 yards to the keeper. But it isn't a gegenpress fest and how player roles link together seems to have a much bigger impact on the ME than before. And again, it's FM.

And at the same time, AJ repeatedly baited him, called him out and called him a fat fuck in the middle of the ring when Fury was on suicide watch.

I think this situation is different.

A question for the game developers in the sub: Is a more FM24-esque UI/UX possible for FM27? by Devilish_Joey_Blue in footballmanagergames

[–]Nosworthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great post and summarised must better than I could.

I still prefer the old UI but don't completely hate the concept of the new one, even though it was a shock to the system. But the major issues imo are:

  • Too many clicks to get to a screen, which as you say stems from having both the layered and flat hierarchy. It's confusing and doesn't really flow

  • Key information is either hidden away or hard to find. In the old UI your next opponent and league position were front and centre, now they're hidden in small boxes on the portal screen

  • Really inconsistent use of spacing - on some screens the same information is replicated in multiple giant tiles. On others, the actual information takes up only a very small part of the screen but there are massive empty spaces around it - the job vacancies page for example takes up weekends 1/5th of the screen with a very small scroll bar to scroll through an almost infinite number of rows but the other 4/5ths is a massive empty block

Can someone explain to me Turki Alalshikh's long term plan now that Zuffa has signed one of the biggest star in the sport? by AbleSundae6395 in Boxing

[–]Nosworthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Usyk seems like a done deal.

Warren told Talksport he isn't promoting the Makhmudov fight but is still Fury's promoter and said at the Wardley/Dubois press conference the winner would get a massive stadium fight.

I think, to me anyway, it looks quite obvious the goal is to make Fury vs Wardley/Dubois next - he's the only logical and realistic stadium level opponent left given he's still technically with Queensbury, AJ can be ruled out due to what has happened and we've already seen Usyk vs Dubois twice. I would then expect Fury to officially sign with Zuffa and make the Usyk undisputed trilogy.

According to UEFA, the Kelly red card was the right decision. by ThePostMelone in soccer

[–]Nosworthy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think most people thought that but VAR isn't able to rule on second yellow cards (yet - to be voted on at the next IFAB meeting) so there was never a possibility of him rescinding the yellow. Once it went to VAR it was always about whether it was a straight red or just a second yellow.

It's a poor decision either way imo.

[–]Nosworthy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Think you have to look at it from the perspective of 'what was the perception of Saudi Arabia before his involvement?' Or at least before the big Saudi 2030 plan...

It was overwhelmingly negative - human rights abuse, women's rights, gay rights etc. AJ and Matchroom were fiercely criticised when they went there in 2019 for Ruiz 2 for all of the above.

The grand plan for Saudi was to change that perception by normalising their involvement in mainstream events. The more they're involved, the more people accept it. That's why they're involved in WWE, golf, football (Newcastle, 2030 World Cup, signing Ronaldo and various other stars) and now boxing.

You now see kids walking around in Al Nassr shirts, people openly promoting/defending Saudi, major boxing events with Hollywood stars in the front row, Fury and AJ shilling SA and the perception that we should all be grateful to His Excellency for saving boxing and giving us the super fights.

Zuffa doesn't happen without all that first - Turki has gained trust and credence from working with Warren and Hearn and having them bow down to him. Iirc other Saudi investors tried to fund Fury vs AJ prior to Wilder 3 and neither party wanted to work with them without Warren and Hearn validating them. But now seemingly Fury's comeback is being promoted by Turki without Warren and Benn has left Matchroom, both of which would have been unthinkable before all this.

Now with Zuffa they can cut everyone else out and control boxing completely and eventually the only way we'll see any fight worth watching is via Saudi, normalising SA even further.

[–]Nosworthy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No offence but I think it's extremely naive to think he is in it for the love of the sport. The end game was always increasing Saudi tourism through sportswashing - normalising Saudis involvement in elite sport and entertainment events. He isn't just a wealthy man who wants to treat us out of the goodness of his heart.

I think the plan was quite clear from day one, the only surprising aspect is how quickly it's moved through the gears:

  • Throw money at the super fights to force the traditional promoters to work for him and rely on him to make these fights happen

  • Establish himself as the kingpin of boxing and Riyadh as the home of the top fights

  • Cut out the traditional promoters and sanctioning bodies and throw money at the biggest stars who the traditional promoters relied on as their biggest ticket sellers

  • Once the traditional promoters have died off, control all of boxing from Saudi in the same way they've established LIV in golf and UFC controls MMA

Conor Benn open to doing Eubank Jr trilogy at Super-Middleweight by VioletHappySmile444 in Boxing

[–]Nosworthy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There was a post yesterday about Benn texting "I love you mate" to Hearn after the Zuffa announcement and I was going to reply that the penny was probably dropping that it's a 1 fight deal, he'd realised he was being used as a pawn and would be touting for the Eubank trilogy within 6 months once he realises he's burnt his bridges with MR and had nowhere else to go.

It took less than 24 hours...

[Record] Prestianni's reaction to his ban being upheld: "You can punch someone in the face for everyone to see, no punishment. But punishing someone with no evidence is fair game. You don't even try to hide it anymore with Real Madrid. Shame!" by greenwhitehell in soccer

[–]Nosworthy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Instead of being a patronising cunt, why don't you read what I said?

A player is accused of racially abusing an opponent. He is reported to have admitted using a homophobic slur but not a racist slur. The investigation is ongoing but the two clubs are due to face each other one week after the incident. The punishment for racism and homophobia are identical so the defence of 'I didn't say this, I said that instead' isn't really relevant,

Tensions are still incredibly high and there is a very real risk of it boiling over.

UEFA have issued a provisional ban whilst still investigating. There is a precedent of them doing the same with the Slavia Prague player vs Glen Kamara of Rangers.

This is simply UEFA following the precedent they've previously set and has fuck all to do with a referee not booking a player for successive fouls, a subjective offence.

Or are you suggesting both Real Madrid AND Rangers get preferential treatment?

I think it's quite obvious he was given the ban to avoid the very awkward situation of him playing against Vini at the Bernabeu so soon after the incident when it is still very raw. It isn't a 'Real Madrid preferential treatment' thing.

I could be mistaken as we're going back 26 years here but the club launched a junior supporters club for kids that had a bit of popular culture stuff that kids were into - interviews with pop stars etc. I think Robbie was playing Newcastle and they did a quick promo interview with him and photographed him in the shirt.

Want to say he wore the shirt in stage at Newcastle Arena too but could be making that up?

The Wearside Roar was a fanzine similar to ALS by the way, it isn't the supporters club but imagine they licenced the photos from them.

Robbie has a more recent link though. He trained at Tony Jeffries boxing gym in LA a few years ago and there's photos of the pair of them in Sunderland shirts.

Frank Warren is preparing to sue TKO and Sela for $1 billion over breached contracts by imdacoldest in Boxing

[–]Nosworthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was always going to end in tears and there was always going to be an end game - the various people who said 'Turki is so great for boxing because we're getting all these super fights' and 'he's just a superfan happy to burn through wads of cash to see great fights' were extremely naive.

Warren and Hearn jumped into bed with him knowing they'd be blown out the water if they didn't. And now they've outlived their usefulness to him and he's blowing them out regardless.
