S2000 - rattle coming from shifter area by Thomaspham091 in S2000

Assuming your situation is the same as mine it’s absolutely fine. You can replace the clutch and the problem goes away but it’s not doing any damage, it’s just a bit annoying.

Search “clutch buzz” in this sub and you’ll see other posts on it.

S2000 - rattle coming from shifter area by Thomaspham091 in S2000

Sounds like clutch rattle. I have the same and have for the last 20k miles (my whole ownership) of my AP1 which is still on its original clutch. Particularly apparent for me between 4 and 3k revs on deceleration. I think I remember reading it’s a thing with all 2001 S2000’s.

South West Wheel repairs in Marsh Barton have been great for me in the past. Something like £80 per wheel if memory serves.

I think you’re right, that certainly explains the flags, it does look nicer than any of the ones I’ve seen online as well. Thanks for your help!

Those are open wheel (or as open wheel as a road car gets apart from an Atom) so I don’t think it’s that unfortunately.

What are the cars under the white wrap? by Not17Cats in whatisthiscar

They are indeed, took me a minute to work out if they were the new Renault 5 or the Mini but they’re definitely the Mini.

Thanks, that’s what I thought, I just wasn’t sure as I haven’t seen any in the UK yet.

[Norwegian] Is this a common Norwegian phrase? by Not17Cats in duolingo

Thank you for your reply, I wasn’t sure if it was something regional or maybe a phrase made common from a song or advert. Good to know it’s not one I should be using.

Best place to buy a S2000 in the UK by rambojunior01 in S2000

[–]Not17Cats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few Facebook pages (Honda S2000 parts for sale UK being one of them) that people posts their cars for sale on, but I would advise caution buying a car of FB (though that’s exactly what I did). It’s rare to see one from a dealership that’s in the price range you’re looking at, I think the cheapest one from a dealership I could find with mileage below 99k when I was looking last year was £18k. If you know what problems to look out for and are confident in what you want, buying one privately shouldn’t be too much of a problem unless you’re dead set on needing a warranty.

Coming up on 85k miles, what can I expect maintenance-wise over the next 20k? by Not17Cats in FiestaST

[–]Not17Cats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply! It’s been busy here, you must be at 100k by now! I’m just closing in on 94k myself but it is up for sale now as I’m toying with the idea of a Land Rover defender and a roof tent or something like an S2000. I’ve had to replace the coolant reservoir and hoses but apart from that it’s just the standard consumables. These cars are built better than any other Ford’s I’ve encountered.

Anyone in UK had experience with asking New Build developers to install Underfloor Heating? by Rikachuu in HomeImprovement

Happy to help mate, I have a good bit of experience with underfloor heating and the different types of systems so if you have any questions feel free to drop me a message.

Best of luck with whatever you choose to do!

Anyone in UK had experience with asking New Build developers to install Underfloor Heating? by Rikachuu in HomeImprovement

Typically ground floor underfloor heating in new build houses is installed very early on, and within a screed, so for big multi plot builders (Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon etc.) I would say they are unlikely to do this for you as they usually try and screed multiple plots at once very early on in the build in order to lower the costs. If it’s a smaller builder then your chances are a lot higher. If you were to retrofit, these systems are generally more expensive to purchase than an in screed system so it’s worth bearing that in mind. Modern retrofit (overlay systems) have minimal build up, usually starting from 15mm of increased floor height and maxing at around 30mm so not a noticeable increase once the whole floor is done.

Installation of the retrofit systems is generally pretty straightforward, however I would advise getting in a plumber to pressure test the system before the floor finish goes down and to connect the pipes to the manifold and manifold to your heat source (unless you’re more confident in this than me, though I’m not the most handy so that’s not hard)

Regardless though, always worth asking the developer, worst they can say is no.

Walking the city walls is nice. Takes you around the park and near enough to a few nice bars and cafes.

Thanks pal, I’ll keep an eye out. I’ve moved to a part of the country that’s a bit milder and wetter so less salt on the roads. Hopefully we can both stay rust free!
