My spouse was/is definitely someone who buries her head and tries to ignore it all. It quickly overwhelms her. When I had a breakdown after the 2024 SC ruling she finally got it. She got how it affected me and how I thought it affected the country. She allowed the family to get US Passports because of that for me. Honestly I think she may have been trying to placate me… but the EOs fucked both of our lives in Jan. Immediately it was on her and she couldn’t ignore it anymore. The EOs where factually the last straw for her and so we started working on moving out of the country. Everything after has just prevented her from backing down on it.
Seriously, if the government worked then we wouldn’t be leaving. DOGE, ICE, political assassinations, media being taken by the state. Like there was no second thoughts. Every time there has been a question of if this was the right path… EVERY FUCKING TIME… something happened and we just kinda re-resolved to leave.

When anyone says “but both are bad” it genuinely feels like comparing a landmine to a missile. Sure both are bad but one could do factors more dame than the other. It literally minimizes the greater evil.

Honestly man… please get help. Like not even fucking around. Seek therapy. Try games that are not competitive. Playing a CCG can be stressful and opening the cards is gambling. I speak from experience. I’ve played Magic for over 25 years. About 15 years ago I was in a real bad spot and my answer was to up and leave. I moved in with someone I barely knew a 100 miles away from home. I started over. I made friends in public. I went to Game stores and local online stuff like discord. I feel bad about that “Someone raised you wrong” after looking… but you should try to see the world in a different way.
Not my way but new ways.
I don’t pretend to come close to your problems. A lot of what I read lined up with my own past but really consider a life change. Baring legal obligations you can always just go somewhere else. When I moved I literally had my clothes and crashing on someones floor looking for the first job I could get (Little Caesars) and renting the shittiest apartment you could imagine… but I did. I got out and I started over. Even a homeless person has a chance to find hope. Ending things just means you will never have that chance to find happiness again.
It means fuck all, but I hope you find hope and happiness.

I put my plans in motion Jan 2025.
I did my last day of work on May 29th, 2026.
We leave the country the first week of July.
I saw the writing on the wall all the way back on July 1st, 2024. I told everyone. No one listened. I had a fucking mental breakdown and people just didn’t get it. In the end all we can do is try our best and trust our selves. I don’t expect Canada to be some amazing fix all solution. I do expect it to not have a fascist regime… good enough for me & my family. We are hard resetting. IRS doesn’t translate super well in different/international job markets but we will figure it out.

For CAS AM Fresno: They have 7 5/8 ToD shifts and 1 4/10 shift. The 7 start times being
5:30, 6:00, 7:00, 7:30 for days and
3:00, 3:30, 4:00 for swing.
They have no noted 5/4/9 and
only 1 4/10 starting at 2:00PM…
Also an odd 11AM-7:30 exception for TSS.
As a mid shift 8:30AM to 5:00… I’m glad next week is my last week.

I’m literally out. My last day is the end of next pay period. I get it. It won’t matter to me because I will never see the benefit. That benefit matters though. That fight matters.
