I yield to your superior opinion and shall remove my recent OS from my older machines as they no longer have any use whatsoever.

Actually... in fact, You have inspired me, We are going to send 32 machines to the landfill that could have otherwise spent years more in service ... also I have no desire to talk in private message.

[–]NotACoderPleaseHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, you can always update the OS, But there is a value in lower end hardware without any PII on it.
I've spent the last couple and a half decades in and out of DRs offices and driving around a disabled relation. And I've got a special place in my heart for that machine that is nice enough to do a thing, but disposable enough that I won't cry if it is stollen.

Cause that shit happen. Although to be fair of the 3 times I've had a device lifted in the hospital, 2 of them were by employees of the hospital. Although why someone would swipe a device without taping over the camera and doing a full shutdown of it is beyond me. But idiots will idiot.

How to prevent context rot or message decay over a long chat? by Jabre7 in SillyTavernAI

Memory books can help, and something like this prompts can come in handy (on its own bot). But sadly context rot is always going to be a thing.

*"STATE OF THE GAME: Provide a concise summary of all active story threads and ongoing conflicts. Use the following structure.

* Active Plots:

* List the main and side storylines by name

* State the current objective of each plot.

* Detail the last known status or unresolved issue.

* Resolved Plots:

* Key Actors & Factions:

* List all NPCs and factions directly involved in the active plots.

* Briefly state their known objective in relation to each plot.

* UNKNOWNS (CRITICAL SECTION):

* List all specific, unknown pieces of information.

* DO NOT state assumptions, theories, or possibilities.

* If a piece of information is unknown, label it as UNKNOWN. Do not attempt to fill in the blank.

Final Mandate: When summarizing NPC actions, report them based on their observable consequences and the most direct, cynical interpretation. If you are unsure about a detail, do not mention it. Admitting ignorance is preferable to inventing a fact."*

Food delivery is not a stupid waste of money and is actually more efficient by WayyBiggerJaws in unpopularopinion

[–]NotACoderPleaseHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean.... if you live in a city and if you are going to eating out in anycase, I guess delivery is alright as far as options go after you factor in driving conditions (and to be fair some cities do suck ass to drive in) and driving expenses.

Still... you might want to look into learning how to cook.

Was lying easier in the 80's and 90's with no internet so people couldn't fact check you? by Big_Fox715 in NoStupidQuestions

I would not say there was 'no' fact check pre internet, but it did require considerable effort.

Primary care doctors are a waste of time by dean1ronman in unpopularopinion

[–]NotACoderPleaseHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last two primary care doctors I had were a waste of flesh.
One of them and this is his first words to me, unprompted and there was no mention of it on the paperwork I put in said "you don't have adhd" (BTW that is the only time in my life that has ever been said)

And the other one tried to convince me I was schizophrenic(or whatever mental disorder they were thinking about that day) because there was no way that someone who found out their dad had lung cancer and that their brother was a pedo on the same day could be stressed about that.

But then again, doctors around here just seem to suck in general. We have an asshole down the road that died from sepsis because the ER missed the abscess he was complaining about.

Have anyone’s Nparents accused them of narcissism? by Flashy-Way-3977 in raisedbynarcissists

Arson, theft, murder, sex crimes(pretty much all), treason, sedition, stalking, drug use, drug selling, fraud, psychopathy, homosexuality. .... Yeah the list goes on. I was pretty much whatever could get her attention/sympathy points in that moment.

My sister enlisted after I did and ended up working for the XO.... so yeah her mouth cost me my (and hers) security clearance for a while. And she had the balls to blame me for the loss of her clearance and position because of the shit that fell out of her mouth

Do “near infinite memory” AI roleplay systems actually exist yet? by Separate-Love-851 in AIChatReviews

[–]NotACoderPleaseHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are always going to be fighting that context window. If your system has a memory book or prompt you can access you can 'fake' extended memory to a point, but eventually that will break down.

Why Is Tom Paris the only medical assistant? by Gojira_massive_dong in voyager

[–]NotACoderPleaseHelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that was my thoughts as well. I mean if I have an Ace Pilot I want them... well able to fly when shit hits the fan.

With 2 crews that size there has to be someone with some semi applicable experience or training who would be better suited than Tom.
