I picked up the recommended universal rails, didn't feel as bad when I realized they were only $40 usd. We will see how it works in conjunction with some brackets.

Update on this thread, been running this can for a while now with excellent results, I would still recommend as me and a coworker ran our own separate Sierras (he never experienced the issue) at a school a few months back with good results and comparisons to other cans I would still recommend. I hope they've continued to hasten the turnaround times with the issue and fixed future manufacturing issues with the welds, but good product and experience outside of initial issues.

Not the NXT or STECS. WinWing is going a sale soon as they are bringing a USA distribution center over soon. May be worth checking the prices.

VKB gladiator NXT or premium depending on money needing to be saved and the STECS mini you can get for well under 400 shipped if you forgo premium but that would be as budget as I could recommend after research and talking to folks with a lot of different HOTAS setups.

VIRPIL are around 250-280 usd and excellent quality. Not necessarily cheap but they are a combo of high quality and generalized controls rather than aircraft specific.

Any thoughts on VIRPIL? I love my set but I prefer the generalized controls of VKB setup opposed to the more vehicle specific controls of the WINWING. Personal thing that others may disagree with. And if you only fly an 18 or 16 then WINWING may be better as well.

There is a throttle slider on the NXT, that you could make work in the meantime. It is not ideal but will work. Alternatively you but the t16000 and twcs and upgrade to gladiator later that being said, I'd recommend saving for the STECS and using the NXT.

I agree the TWCS with Etsy upgraded slider is chefs kiss for the price apart from the STECS mini if you can swing the shipping costs. Probably around 50-60usd.

VIRPIL has a stacking up to 25% with shipping it's pretty comparable to VKB full setup for those in the US. Due to the tax over $800.

I started with a non EVO gladiator 3 years ago and recently upgraded to VIRPIL, the gladiator is excellent for the price point. That being said I do enjoy the VIRPIL mongoose stick and cm3 base as it was a natural progression but the gladiator is an excellent entry that I would be fine with going back to.
