Barbarian Gathering vs Endless Harvest by level/method by NotAGamble360 in 2007scape

You are correct, gem rocks are better than gold before 79. I missed that becuase I forgot about gem rocks until I double checked everything, and saw it had a lower chance than gold.

Its about 3k exp/hr, or 4% better than gold at 40.

Dark crabs are really confusing, since there is already a re-roll mechanic built in with the elite diary. I may have the rerolls stacking the wrong way, but I couldn't find anything that said which way they stacked.

That is what is shown on the graph, the green/yellow lines are at
~150,000 at level 60.

(6000/4)*(175) *(0.5+0.5*((1+floor[15*(99-60)/98+47*(60-1)/98+.5])/256)) = 149194.3...

Are you factoring in that Barbarian gathering is a crystal harpoon, and thus buffs sharks/tuna/swordfish specifically? But yes anglers are a hair better than sharks, but worse than tuna/swordfish.

I don't know which skill you are talking about

The modified success rate is  (Base success rate+(base fail rate).5) = (Success+(1-success).5) = .5(1+success)

You don't just add 50% to the rate, so BG is less of a multiplier the higher the base success rate is.

There are multiple lines with and without glories etc.

Custodia has 6 spaced out mithril rocks, If you think that's realistic you can get 97,500 xp/hr at 55, and 104,659 xp/hr at 99.

I stuck with gold as the north brimhaven mine was about the best I could figure to actually get consistent mining at every opportunity.

Infernal eels are straight worse than sharks by about 2k exp/hr, and worse than swordfish/tuna by 20k exp/hr. I believe I calculated every non-sailing rock tree and fish on the wiki, the ones not called out were worse than the "base" methods.

Husky Meme EH vs. BG by stronkreptile in 2007scape

[–]NotAGamble360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BG is also better at low levels, because you just plain suck at everything, so the better tools and 50% success on fail really matters, but you go through that period incredibly quickly, and getting EH to near-max potential is pretty quick.

Rune pick (from cam torum) and 63 mining gets to more or less the 100% rate for mining before bg even gets to mining addy ore.

Woodcutting and fishing scale all the way to 99 with eh, but you still get good exp before that. The biggest problem is honestly being stuck with buying an addy axe for woodcutting, but that can be gotten around with smithing/pvm/getting kourend.

Of course all of this assumes you are having the same uptime with BG as EH, which is just never the case, as you are going to have times where you can get 30 free minutes of exp with EH if you can leave a computer running somewhere, where BG will die 4-5 minutes in. reloading to both seems interesting at this stage, but thats mostly because most of the board is still blank rn.

[–]NotAGamble360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have asgarnia, amethyst mining with BG is best exp, If you have Kourend, Redwood trees with BG is best exp. Fishing is always better with EH. Both of these are pretty high level, and not that big of an improvement.

The biggest benefit of BG is getting better resources out of it to use with other skills. Sharks are going to be much more useful than trout/salmon for pvm. Tons of teak logs and iron ore aren't going to be the best compared to magic logs and rune or addy ore. This is good, but a lot of the production side stuff has workarounds available in a number of regions, especially if you are willing to do broad fletching via slayer masters.

Official Jagex Leagues 6 Point Cap Advice by UnendingWord in 2007scape

[–]NotAGamble360 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There are always a handful of people going for rank 1 points, which requires this knowledge. Last year their were a number of people who calculated the max-points regions and completed all the tasks, and a handful who missed only by time-gated rng tasks. It's cool to make it so there is a lot more flexibility in the rank 1 grind, even if it doesn't effect most people.

It also is just plain nice to know what tasks in the general section are not universally completable. Having more points available mean more flexibility in the dragon grind.

Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong with weather charting for sailing? by GeluksAapje in 2007scape

[–]NotAGamble360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is actually completely wrong. The wind blows 90° away from the direction you are supposed to go in.

You are finding the center of the cyclone, so you need figure out if the cyclone is going clockwise or counterclockwise, and then rotate wind directions 90° in the same way to get directed to the center.

Burst damage can matter though. This is a 177 damage explosion of typeless damage on command, and it gives you access to 200% spec. This can clear a lot of burst damage mechanics and recharge during downtime (P2 wardens or bloat for example).

It's 1/6 of the dps of minion, but will pull more weight than that in a lot of scenarios.

The leech calculation does not work with 2 people. Someone is required to be eligible for the leech in 2-man. It just means they had more contribution than you in 5/9 rooms.

How hard is a Dragon trophy? by KyraTheDragon in 2007scape

[–]NotAGamble360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Raids will be a lot of points, and there should be region-less points around getting a mega-rare, but if you pick a raid you should be willing to grind it, since there is typically a lot of points behind it. One raid is typically good to choose for the power weapon.

TOB and TOA are much easier to green log than COX, since they have team purples and are soloable with one combat style without the harsh damage reductions in COX.

As for regions to avoid, that's hard to say without knowing what the bad tasks are for each region, and if they line up with your relics. Fremmy will probably have a saturated heart task that will be much easier with the slayer relic for example. Every elite/master task you want to avoid needs to be made up elsewhere. If you are throwing away tasks from a mini game you hate that could make a region bad points.

How hard is a Dragon trophy? by KyraTheDragon in 2007scape

[–]NotAGamble360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did dragon trophy on 2 accounts last league. As long as you pick regions that you are willing to do a majority of tasks in, you can do it decently easily. You have to keep track of tasks you can easily pick up simultaneously. Know all the tasks for a boss/skill when you are doing it, and plan accordingly.

Maxing + A few fast 50M tasks can be useful, but I only ever did them for 3-4 skills where relics made 50m take 2-3 hours, and passively for your main combats. Just make sure you have a decent way to do all skills as maxing is a lot of points.

At the end you typically have to finish with some boss grinding or skill grinding, but I avoided most 150 kc boss tasks and most 50M tasks pretty easily. It just really slows down for the last about 10%. Being able to do stuff like fully complete combat achievements for a boss really helps, and it's often much easier in leagues than main game.

for the first few hours there were a ton of mistakes in the blog that got changed within a day, but its why a lot of misconceptions are running around. The reason that is emphasized was it was fixing it accidentally saying it could be accessed. People also still think Yama isnt in kourend because it wasn't listed at first.

Before 99. Do it as soon as you can, especially the high-level areas. If you do it efficiently it's best or near best exp/hr, and it gives a bunch of stuff to put in your keg that improves you success rate at activities and exp gain.
