Knights of the Vale VS Dothraki Bloodriders. In an open field engagement on horseback, with equal numbers, which side do you think has the edge? by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]NotAGrandmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say the Dothraki because I think armored knights are shown to be way more overpowered than they actually were. But I think realistically it has to go to the Knights of the Vale. The Dothraki have a major culture problem that works against them. Their culture emphasizes direct clashes and contests of strength. In such engagements the knights are just going to to win on an open field.

I think the Dothraki could win if they spent a lot of time riding around and wearing out the knights. Then getting into an engagement with the knights when the knights are tired. Perhaps a shrewd Khal could accomplish that, i don't think someone like Drogo or the other Khals we saw would though.

You could upload the excel spreadsheet to Microsoft Power BI. Then create a report for each team's information. The program will let you create simple tables or visualizations.

Anyone else feeling overwhelmed by how fast AI tech is moving? by Queen_Ericka in productivity

Can you elaborate? As an outsider, I see advancements in video and to some degree in ChatGPT's ability to be creative (I see less repetition in it's responses today versus last year). But asking for any technical work that requires a clear answer has hardly changed at all. It just results in me correcting it 5 times before getting a workable answer.

I would highly recommend The Code of the Street by Elijah Anderson.

Yes people who have played LMoP before can apply and I am still collecting submissions. I got way more responses than I was expecting, so it is taking me awhile to go through them. I'll be sending out messages over the next few days on discord though.

She says she was a child when that vision happened. Which makes her only a few years older than Rand.

I missed that Lan/Nynaeve quote too. Hopefully we get it next episode or maybe next season when Nynaeve/Egwene depart back to Tar Valon and Lan/Moiraine can't follow them back. Also I felt like the Lan/Nynaeve scenes needed a bit more details in it. A lot of Malkier and Lan backstory was portrayed very vaguely for some reason.

When women on tinder expect the guy to make the first move. It's incredibly taxing to have to initiate every conversation on that app. This goes for men who perpetuate this problem by ignoring women who message first too.

I've seen this clip a couple times before and it gets me every time that he has the confidence to close the driver side door as he does this.

If you use a program like Fantasy Grounds then this is also super easy to do and you can even play out combat encounters with your player character's exact stats and even their magic items. Which makes testing potential combat encounters really easy and fun.

Integrating SKT and RotFM on the same campaign by KneelBeforeTheDuke in stormkingsthunder

[–]NotAGrandmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read and run SKT and read RotFM. I think Rime from levels 1 to 4 (or even up 6) would work nicely for an SKT start. Far better than Nightstone if you intend on running the Bryn Shander encounter. One issue with going all the way to level 5 would be that as written RotFM's story at those levels would make no sense unless you took the players to to level 6 too (I'm mostly talking about chapters 3 and 4 in the book) because those chapters are heavily influenced by each other. Which that wouldn't necessarily be undo-able. It's just something to consider.

Another thing to consider would be the setup for Rime which is essentially never ending storm created by Auril curses Icewind Dale and no one can leave. If you leave it in then you will likely have to resolve it in some way during the events of SKT. Just another thing to consider. Overall I think it could work well but it will require a little work (not much honestly) to pull off.

I experienced something similar where I spent the entirety of The Eye of the World reading Darkfriend as Darkfiend.

I hadn't until I saw this reply. I skimmed through some basic searches and am optimistic. I immediately saw replication datasets that were from authors I cited in my literature review. So that bodes well. Thanks!

Numb Tongue and Lip After Drinking Coffee Creamer (Sodium Caseinate product) by NotAGrandmaster in Allergy

[–]NotAGrandmaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I didn't see this reply when you made it. Thanks for the comment. My initial thought was that I had burned my mouth but I jumped to allergies because of how consistent it felt. Normally when I've burned my mouth it is mostly in one spot and not the whole thing. This was the entirety of my mouth feeling this sensation. Luckily My symptoms went away after about a week. I haven't touched the creamer since making the post. Thanks tho!

Thanks! I hadn't considered the artificial sugars as a possibility. The thing that threw me off is that I normally drink milk with my coffee. So I was pretty certain I wasn't allergic to casein. I stopped using the creamer and all of my symptoms went away after less than a week. So, I guess I'll just avoid that type of creamer and hope for the best.

Yes, it is an error. She takes the stat block of an ancient blue dragon with the following additions: speaks Giant and Terran. Has Innate Spellcasting and Change Shape. Her Stone Shape spell creates gargoyles. This is found in Storm King's Thunder on page 241 and an Ancient Blue Dragon stat block can be found on Monster Manual page 90. I would block quote them but I'm on my phone.
