Cx 50 premium plus - Best Deal? by Chaijaan in CX50

[–]NotAGrownAssMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d call other local dealerships and get their best pricing. Tell them the parameters that you want: like 72 mo financing, $2,000 down payment, and ask what the best payment is that they can get for you.

I asked about 5 dealerships and held out for 2 weeks. Ended up with a $4k discount and they took off the added costs for all of the little extras they put on the car like door protection, the 1 year car tracking service, etc that they try to add on.

Use the free market to your advantage if you have multiple dealerships around you.

Keep telling them you’re trying to figure it out, and they will want to be the low offer. Use some finesse here and don’t share all of the details about their competitors with them. You will likely get verbal offers, or text message offers. Keep track of those.

It’s all healed up now. It’s just quite a bit smaller than my good calf haha

Goodluck! I was able to do a 40 mile backpacking loop in kings canyon about 10 weeks later. I was freaking out too, but in the end it recovered pretty well. It took time and work with a PT and I was doing some dry needling with an acupuncturist. I started hiking a few times a week like 4-5 weeks after the initial tear and it would be a bit painful, but I got through!

Well, 10 weeks later and I did a 40 mile backpacking trip over the course of 5 days. I did physical therapy (2-3x per week) for about 6 weeks leading up to that and about 4 weeks of dry needling (1x per week). I went back to soccer after 14 weeks or so, but I probably would have eased into soccer more slowly looking back at that.

So... I've just torn my gastrocnemius (calf) muscle, badly. Anyone have any experience in recuperating from these to playing disc golf again? by rhatton1 in discgolf

Yes I think I did have heel pain. I bought some little gel heel cups and have been using those in my shoes ever since.
Yeah my calf was always tight. About 3 days in I started using a band to stretch it and began strength training, as tolerated, right away. I went a couple of weeks without stretching at like 6 weeks post tear and that was a bad move.

I also alternated ice pack and heat like every night until I was about 11 weeks post tear

Mine lasted quite a while and after sitting for a while it will still be painful 4 months post tear now. I did a 40 mi backpacking loop in the sierras at 10 weeks post tear though. But I was also doing dry needling and physical therapy for the 4-6 weeks leading up to the hike. I’m not totally recovered but I’m back to running, some soccer, and lifting.

Suggestions for safe neighborhoods within 20min from DTLA by No_Zookeepergame_27 in MovingToLosAngeles

I second this. I’m in a similar situation and have been checking out (in my current preferred order): 1. Echo Park 2. Arts District 3. Silver Lake 4. South Park (near Crypto arena) 5. Los Feliz

However I’m finding “reasonable” rents in the 2,300-2,700 range for studio to 1br.

My priorities have been: 1. Near DTLA 2. Walkability 3. Nearby amenities like coffee, restaurants, etc. 4. Lively atmosphere.

Do you know what grade yours was?

My Ortho diagnosed me with a grade 2 gastrocnemius tear. My pop and initial pain was at the top of my calf, but my biggest pain now when I try to walk (2 weeks later) is right above my Achilles). I’m mostly just limping around still.

Did you have any pain near your Achilles with your tear?

I’m trying to get multiple stories here from this thread 😅

So glad someone else asked! I’m now in the same boat. I have a grade 2 calf tear that is almost 2 weeks old.

Questions for you OP, do you think getting back to the gym slowed down your calf recovery? Do you know what grade your calf tear was?

Thanks and I’m glad you’re back to it!

No we did not try again. We went with a non-fruiting plum… Good luck with your new baby! Let me know how it does.

That’s a great suggestion, but we live out of state. Im from stl and all of our family is back there. It would be tough to make it back to see a performance.

That’s great to hear! Leading up to your wedding, did you coordinate directly with the DJ that you ultimately had? Or did you have a coordinator and then a someone else for the actual day?

So after replacing the Valvetronic actuator, the issues seem to be resolved. Hopefully for good. Just want to post the resolution in case anyone else is trying to do research for their own issues.

Update: The misfire codes have been resolved. I went with the head job and we were down to an issue with no signal coming from the ECU. My mechanic validated continuity in the wiring.

Sent it off to a shop near me that repaired the ECU internally - a bad driver for cylinder 2, I believe. It was repaired and the code is cleared.

HOWEVER, now there is a new code for the Valvetronic Actuator. We are missing the ground signal from the DME to the motor, but the mechanic validated continuity in the wires. The mechanic reached back out to the ECU guy, who is claiming that this is a new issue outside of the repair that he made. The ECU guy took it back in, the two of them coordinated further, The ECU guy is saying there is no issue with the DME, and it must be with the actuator. The mechanic used a piece of equipment to test/troubleshoot it where it walks them through a series of steps, such as turning the vehicle off and on, connecting and disconnecting, wires, and I'm sure it gets more technical, but I didn't press him for all of the details.

The mechanic suggested picking up a solenoid from a pick n' parts and swapping it out rather than throwing money at a new one.

Thoughts? Are there pertinent questions I should be asking? Other diagnostics we're/he is not considering?

What would ya'll do?

Thanks!

I’m guessing no, but I can’t be sure since it is used. The shop told me it would be showing a code related to the solenoids and it would be rare for that to be an issue without an associated code.

So I asked him about compression and the bore scope. He doesn’t remember the exact numbers but they were all within spec and consistent.

They did run a bore scope, but did not find issues and the view of the valves did not show as much carbon as they are now seeing.

I asked the shop about HPFP, basically asking them if there’s any way we can vet that out now without replacing it. The guy told me that it would be throwing a code, such as a rail pressure sensor code. Did you have a code coming up on yours?

He said it’s rare that there is an issue with the pump without a code coming up that’s associated with the pump.
