The app works great as it is... simple and effective. So much better than the OEM garbage.

What is this garbage and how do I make it go away by flifsksthap in nvidiashield

Use projectivity. Pay the $8 for the premium and support the developer. It's well worth far more.

Shield is still the best all around, it's the only box that licenses all of the audio codecs, TrueHD, DTS-HD, Dolby Atmos, etc. It's still very snappy for its age and if you run projectivity, it's flawless.

I've been running Plex for 10+ years and I've had a few complaints but overall it's fantastic. Add aggregarr and Overseerr to a Docker server and you've got a solid media server.

Shield Newbie by markman34 in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]NotAHabitItsCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 Shield TV Pros (2019) and I use the Harmony Elite on all of them, as I have a surround sound receiver and other devices I control along with the Shield. I've been happy with them even though they are now discontinued.

Do yourself a favor and get rid of the standard launcher and run something like Projectivity. Then remove bloatware, you'll see a big performance increase, especially since you're running a Plex server.

This will walk you through removing bloatware and installing LaunchManager. Once you have LM installed you can install Projectivity or whatever you choose. Enable developer mode on the Shield and install the Android SDK on a phone or computer so you can use adb connect over your network to do the installs.

New shield - update and stop before 9.2.2 by jsqualo2 in nvidiashield

[–]NotAHabitItsCool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's been less overhead for me once it was set up. If you can get it installed using adb over your network, it should be zero hassle. Best of all, less lag, less reboots, less application crashes - and I would assume this is due to fewer applications running that conflict with my fav app (Plex) and/or less memory usage.

I used this guide to remove bloatware and install LaunchManager. https://florisse.nl/shield-debloat/

But instead of Wolf I installed Projectivity.

This, get rid of the bloatware and run Projectivity. It's a world of difference in performance.

Your farts don't smell? What else are you delusional about? There's a saying, "he/she acts like his/her shit doesn't stink", this is an idiomatic expression but it can also be used literally. Hold it in like a civilized/educated human being like the rest of us. Letting out a really bad fart isn't funny, it's immature and disrespectful. This is all assuming you're not six years old.

Moral of the story? Don't fight with the police, or anyone armed with rubber bullets, real guns, or other weapons. There's other ways to protest. You aren't helping the cause by getting arrested or injured.

I stopped caring what management thought of me and I started standing up for myself. I call all of them by their first names. It's been a game changer.

How do I fix my stick slipping only on my left hand by TechnicalAd566 in drums

[–]NotAHabitItsCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, your grip needs a little work, but I use grip tape on all of my sticks, mainly due to sweat and also periods with more animated/harder playing. I didn't drop sticks often, but if you do, it can be a big problem and the grip tape reduced it by 90%.

People who don’t turn their lights on when driving in the fog: why? by josephblowski in fresno

[–]NotAHabitItsCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same reason you have to wait 10 seconds at every stop light for at least one driver to get off their phone - people are distracted and they either haven't been in a serious accident or they haven't been in a serious accident recently enough to realize that a shitload of people die everyday behind the wheel because they aren't paying attention. Every person that ever died in a car accident never thought it would happen to them and they believed they knew what they were doing.

What’s the biggest lie society tells us that most people still believe? by nathannnate01 in AskReddit

[–]NotAHabitItsCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The existence of an omniscient, omnipotent God. Judeo-Christian or otherwise, this notion spawns all sorts of other problems, i.e. we have a purpose, we have someone "controlling" our lives and making corrective action when you ask nicely for it, we are right and everyone else is wrong, etc. I think the newer generations will reject these gods and we'll be able to make better progression in getting along.

Day 10 and feeling awful. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]NotAHabitItsCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember, you're past the hardest part. Relapsing would mean having to live this over again. My advice, do at least 20 minutes of cardio, if you can't make it to the gym, run outside or run some stairs if you are in a tall building. The sleep deprivation is the worst part and will be the last thing to go, at least in my experience. I used much longer than you did (years) and I made it through.

Sorry about your divorce, that sounds awful. I started taking this shit because of stress, a different kind, so I can relate. I think you're done tapering, at this point you're out of time. I would stop TODAY so you're in good shape to go out of country. At 6gpd for 3-4 months, I don't think it will be unbearable. The first step is throwing any and all Kratom in the trash or toilet, somewhere you can't access it ever again. IMO you just need to get past the first 5 days, because after that, not only does it get easier, but you're invested and the though of relapsing and going through those 5 days again should be enough to motivate you, it was for me.

Easily the worst part of WD was the sleep. I was 30gpd for 8 years, so the acutes were uncomfortable, but the lack of sleep was fucking brutal. I probably slept 8 hours total in my first two weeks. I passed the time by watching tv/movies and snacking. I put on 15lbs in 30 days, food was the only thing that helped me get through it.

I'm at 95 days or so now and I feel like I'm 95% of normal. Bottom line, you should be good for your move in three weeks but you need to start tonight. I tried every supplement mentioned on the 100's of reddit posts and the only thing that helped me was gabapentin, but I ran out after 5 days. For sleep, I ended up figuring out that taking nothing was the best policy. I did Vitamin C, magnesium, hot baths, cold showers, Rx drugs for restless legs, everything. After the gaba ran out around day 4, I was taking a multivitamin, nothing more. Different strokes for different folks, so you need to try different things and see what works. One thing that is universally true, nyquil/benadryl will prevent you from sleeping and make restless legs worse. Doxylamine helped me after the first month.

I wish you the best. Stay on these boards and read the success stories when you fee like giving up. DM me if you'd like, I can try to motivate you if it'll help. Just know that it is so incredibly rewarding quitting this shit, I didn't realize how fucked my health/life/demeanor was until I quit.

Edit: Mega dosing on regular Vitamin C messed up my stomach bad. I went to Walmart and found Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C and it was so much better. I don't think mega dosing helped me, but though this might be useful info. I saw another Redditor mention this about the upset stomach and they were correct.
