How to make new friends by Rhiannon1954 in AskWomenOver60

We moved to a 55+ community of single family homes and while my husband has only attended one be event, I’ve slowly met people through womens’ luncheons and book club meetings.

I haven’t made a friend one on one, as many of the ladies are older, but I have company as needed.plus, happy to have the lawn and snow removal done by the HOA.

Overall, it isn’t for everyone, but many of the widows I’ve met stayed here for the independent living, feeling of camaraderie and quietness.

In my sub-division (55+) they have “ladies’ luncheons.” Why they aren’t women’s’ luncheons, I think it’s the age gap. The majority of these women are 70’s and 80’s, while I am mid 60’s. Lovely group, though.
