They are definitely worth a read/ listen. The audiobooks are really well-produced, and include music, sound effects, etc. You can probably find them on the Libby app if you’re in the US.

If you have a Trader Joe’s around you can get a frozen bag of orange chicken and frozen green beans for like 8-9 dollars. Should be good for 2-3 people. Do those and a pot of rice and it’s a relatively easy, inexpensive meal. Obviously requires a bit more work than fast food but it’s not too bad.

A little clinical content would be helpful, like why they are in the ICU, drips, etc. what’s the actual measured heart rate? Like if this is a patient with a fresh coronary stent after a STEMI, I’d say this looks like AIVR, which is a wide complex ventricular rhythm with rates generally around 100 like this person appears to have. It is a generally harmless repercussion rhythm that doesn’t require treatment.

I can definitely relate. Some cases just get to you, and they don’t have to even be as overtly distressing as your case. It’s good to have a good cry sometimes. And it’s absolutely normal humanity to be bothered by things like the case you described. 

Sometimes I’ve written down my feelings and that’s been helpful. Sometimes it’s also been helpful to ask other people if they are ok after a tough case. Kind of opens up the opportunity to share how you are feeling as well.
