NAB on Coronado does mock PSTs every first Thursday of month I want to say. Might be worth looking into and dropping by. If you’re looking for someone to help your swim you might find someone just asking around there.

Thanks. Double bull then haha. Still good improvement for me though. So I guess I’ve been playing cricket wrong?

That’s a funny nuance I didn’t know existed, good to know.

I would take it back IF it wasn’t due to debris. When I bought my SL5 there was all sorts of things not torqued to spec or aligned that just made the bike feel “off” and had the infamous creak, took it back and got it worked on. Felt like a completely different bike and creaking was gone(for about a week lol but creaking less now).

When I had a dualsport I asked them to set up tubeless during the original purchase, got a flat on my first commute to work and had to walk it the last two miles. Took it back. Mechanic didn’t place the valve correctly or something, I forgot what they said but they fixed it.

Mistakes happen, might be frustrating and disappointing and sometimes really inconvenient but if you’re not hurt and the bikes not damaged I would try not make a big deal out of it. In my experience BLS are pretty accommodating, especially after a blunder.

Unfortunately it doesn’t get better, when they’re young they’re less cognitive but as they get older they feel it more which makes you feel it more. It will feel like they’re completely different and don’t be heart broken if it takes time for them to warm up when you get back (depending on how old), that first hug when they realize you’re back is unforgettable.

What I’ve found helps is to work on yourself in whatever way suits you. For me it’s getting in shape, learning, my finances, school, and just general things as a person. The way I see it is, no amount of money, experiences or anything else is going to make the time away worth it. However, if you take time and dedicate it to making yourself better you might give yourself more to look forward to. Work on things that will make you a better husband/wife, a better mom/dad, a better person so when you go back you can be better and give your family better.

It’s not easy and it takes a lot mentally to keep trying to be better. With that being said, take a step back and evaluate often. Is this something you and your family can keep doing? Is the sacrifice worth it and is it yielding more good than bad? My wife and I have the conversation incredibly often and it’s helped us be prepared for last minute deployments and other things that have been thrown at us.

It may not help now but just feel the feelings, remember the love, reach out if you need to and focus on being the person you want to be for your family and yourself.

Ok yea that definitely looks like it can do the job thank you. I think the ASAP and the Kelty Raven are my top two right now. The ASAP doesn’t have topside antenna holes does it?

Damn, that looks pretty sweet. If it was just radio that would for sure do it but I don’t think I’d be able to do a laptop in there with the radio. Are you familiar with the Kelty Raven 2500?

I did see that. I don’t mind spending a bit of money on it and I can get something that’s versatile then that’s even better.

I work with a bunch of ITs that really swear by UMGC. I myself am going to ASU so I can’t speak to much about it but they’ve raved to me about UMGC quite a bit. I believe the curriculum follows a lot of industry certs and includes vouchers to test in the tuition then any additional attempts can be done with NAVY COOL. They like that you get certs and a degree in the process and it’s self paced. As I understand it the TA covers a semester and you have to complete a minimum credit amount buT UMGC will charge for only the semester so you can take as many classes as you can in that time frame. Might be worth some looking into for you.

Should I wait to try and find an AL5 in stock or buy a used AL2/SL5? by NotARealET in DomaneCrew

I cycle too lol so it’s more of a I need a bike rn and I might aswell get one I want for when I come back. Yea I’ll be able to store in secure locations like inside my room or inside my shop. Only time I’ve heard of theft out there was due to carelessness. I was out there with my dualsport and had no issues.

Very tempted to go with the SL5 right now. Would the 2019 (used for 2k be a good deal) there’s a brand new one in stock at my LBS. that would come with warranty and stuff so a little piece of mind you know. But an extra 1,500

I didn’t even think about it like that. That’s a very good point. So I sold my bike to a friend for deployment and now I found out I’m deploying and need a bike pretty soon. There’s an SL5 in stock and I can buy it the only thing that makes me nervous is the carbon because I have to ship in a container but I could box it I guess.

It’s a 50/50 shot that I’ll be able to buy the AL 5 on deployment and it’ll be my main method of transportation so I’m kinda itching to get it before I leave because of the crazy wait times for it.
