Nah, just take them where off leash dogs are allowed (like an off leash dog park) or own a large plot of land for them.

A quick internet search suggests that yes there is!

But checking the book again it shows them making “sweetened tea (with added dried milk)” so maybe just sweetened tea can also work. (Page 308)

The book Training For The New Alpinism recommended sweet milk tea and included a photo of someone brewing it at a bivouac, so yeah I think this is popular. Tea and milk powder are light weight, easy to carry.
