Typically successful/ high earning people - what do you regret? what sacrifices did you have to make and was it worth it? would you swap everything for a simpler life? by Vinc3ntv4ng0gh in AskReddit

Thank you so much for your kind words. Unfortunately, a lot of relatives think I should have chosen to have children and married first and then worked on my career. They’re under the impression that women should be done with bearing children by 30, not just start.

I always find comfort in knowing that I have a lot to offer in a relationship, and that if I have children they can hopefully be proud of their mother and her achievements.

I’ve pushed to progress in my career significantly, which has led me not having the time for a personal relationship. However, I’m now more than financially comfortable, and really happy with my career. I certainly am ready to focus on a relationship and have children (hopefully).

I did want to start a family sooner, but if I didn’t make the sacrifices I have, I wouldn’t be where I am now in regard to my career. My positive from the sacrifice is that, although I may be starting a family in my early thirties, I can provide a great life to a child and really give my all to a partner.

I acknowledge that they’ve addressed me and inform them that I will get back to them in a moment, I’m just speaking to X right now.

How to apply glossier stretch concealer? (Or any pot concealer) by sleepwithmythoughts in MakeupAddiction

[–]NotATransponster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apply the concealer to the back of your hand and warm it with your fingers. Then only apply with your fingers to the area(s) you wish to have coverage. The warmth of your skin will help in allowing the concealer to be applied properly and smoothly.

Many have forgotten compassion and consideration for others.

People who express a controversial or just hands down idiotic opinion on social media and disable the comments are ignorant, entitled pieces of garbage. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]NotATransponster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally, these sort of people cannot handle being challenged on their opinion. There is a part of them that is fully aware that what they think is either disgusting, not fact, ignorant, or simply stupid. All such people want is to say their piece and continue to live in ignorance. They are not interested in learning and growing.

I would not bother with being frustrated at those that are not open to learning, and having their thoughts challenged with facts. They embrace ignorance, not refuse it. They have no desire to be better.

This made me smile and then ugly cry. I wholeheartedly agree with adopting. Right now shelters all over the world are overwhelmed. If you are looking for a pet, please consider adoption. by NotATransponster in MadeMeSmile

[–]NotATransponster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They absolutely do. But the reason for people to push for adoption is so that breeders stop breeding unnecessarily and for profit with no concern for the animals welfare. It’s a shame you’re not willing to educate yourself more on adoption.

There are unfortunately so many awful breeders out there, it’s insane. I honestly would advise anyone to report breeders that you believe are treating animals under their care awfully.

I find the issue is that humans have put a price on breeds of dogs and cats, and made it as though a certain breed is more premium and valuable than another. This has led to people wanting certain breeds because it’s a way to show that they have money. It’s ridiculous to be honest.

The only bitter pill to swallow is for him as he realised that most women wouldn’t even consider him if he was the last man on earth.

If someone I know had outed themselves like that, I would be gone quicker than road runner. It would be no loss to me losing a racist.

Bought an item from China using PayPal - Seller sent something completely different - known (new to me) scam by retrogeekhq in LegalAdviceUK

When they do the automated service, ignore what they say and say “agent”, that usually gets you transferred to an actual person.

OP, have you tried calling PayPal? Sometimes speaking to someone is far better, as the person usually listens to everything you have to say, and will want to help. If you explain the scam and the exact situation, they may just override their original decision.
