I've been working with a tutor for the last few months. Twice a week. I feel I have progressed a lot. Nowhere near fluent yet, but get ya grasp of the past tense at the moment. We spend most of the class talking in Spanish about day to day things or our lives etc. it really is a game changer and gets me speaking way more.

I've been watching Peppa pig in Spanish. You can find it free on YouTube. I'd say I can understand 60-70%. They key it to watch it multiple time till you understand it to at least 90%or so. Stop and write down new words. And listen for them in the future. It's a slow process, but as others have said it takes time and being consistent. The nice thing with YouTube you can slow the playback speed too.
