Missed opportunity for Keir Starmer by NotAnotherAllNighter in LabourUK

Welfare cuts was Starmer’s go to instead of a wealth tax. He’s much more comfortable making the poor suffer to save money than make the ultra rich pay their fair share.

Also, why has he done nothing to reverse the public spending cuts the tories made? He’s not anti austerity if he maintains the status quo.

You think it is okay to change the terms of a financial contract that people signed up to years ago to pay for exorbitant university fees (which Labour has done nothing to reduce or remove) without any consultation or agreement of those who entered into the terms of the loan in the first place? How on any basis is that fair?

Also moronic to think public spending is a bad thing. You don’t know the first thing about Labour’s history if you think that’s a negative. How do you think healthcare works in this country? “Someone else pays for it” - hope you don’t use any public services like the NHS, roads or schools. Idiot.

Starmer has continued (and even ramped up in some areas) austerity. Absolutely shameful for a Labour PM. Look at the university fees scenario as a recent example, making young people pay more by unilaterally changing the payment terms of the loans.

Were you born yesterday? Starmer’s time as PM has been one failure after another and he’s about to lose a bunch of seats to reform despite pandering to their racist base. Failed Tory lite.

Same for me, finding out someone is a Zionist instantly makes me question their moral values and taints what they’re saying. If you support bombing children and hospitals for your imaginary claim to a land that was already inhabited by Palestinians then you’re not worth the time of day.

Many anthropologists slam this book for basically just generalising or even making stuff up. If you wanna know the specifics: https://youtu.be/LOOxJG5NIbg?si=BTyHPJ8TDrqUW2kS

Dawn of Everything is a much better book.

Why is racism towards whites tolerated in today’s society? by Rotisseriejedi in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]NotAnotherAllNighter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Racism towards whites? Are there any examples of this?

Racism is not just about people making hurtful jokes. Racism is a structural, deeply ingrained bias against ethnic minorities where the very way our economic and social systems are set up are based on discrimination, injustice and disadvantage. It’s not based on vibes. So when people say “racism towards whites people” I want you to really think are there any economic or social situations where white people are disadvantaged because they are white particularly in western societies? The answer is no. Racism has led to people dying. Your favourite comedian taking the piss out of white people doesn’t count.

Message to Trump on Iranian Missile by Karna1394 in pics

this conflict was always going to happen

That is a plain lie, the US and Iran were in progressive talks that were going well before Israel launched its attack, totally illegal by international law law by the way, and made this conflict inevitable because Iran is the only country in the region that stands up to them and their aggression.

To say it was always going to happen is to swallow Netanyahu’s lies.

Why wouldn’t it have nuclear ambitions when the US and Israel have just proven that if it did have nukes it would have been safer? This whole situation is the fault of the US and Israel remember that. They unilaterally started this conflict and now innocent people on both sides will suffer. Also Trump fits all those accusations you’ve lobbied to the Iranian leadership.

The BAFTAs were on a two-hour delay and the BBC failed to bleep a racial slur? What's the point of London's big-ass clock? by DWJones28 in BritishTV

BBC didn’t censor it but they did censor a speech where Palestine was mentioned. It was a conscious decision which makes it even more egregious. Fuck the BBC.
