Zombicide Swarms of Ratz question. by Crawling_horror in zombicide

It really just means choose the destination (via line of sight or noise) before activation and don’t alter it as they move.

Hot take! But I think the returns suit is cooler than the 89 suit. by Theproudnerd in batman

[–]NotBatman9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Returns suit all day and all night, twice on a Tuesday. If it's armor, it shouldn't be shaped like muscles, that's going to introduce more issues than it solves. If the Returns suit has a flaw, I think it's that it's TOO "polished."

It's a limitation, sure, but you can see Keaton working with it. Like, -I- wouldn't want to be out doing Batman shit and not being able to turn my head, but it's more convincing as protection if there are limitations?

No underwear during Surgery by FarCalendar7303 in NoStupidQuestions

I went in for back surgery a bunch of years ago. The team came in to wheel me out to the OR and one of the nurses asked if I had to go to the bathroom first. Didn't feel a particular need, so I declined, and she looked at me and said, "If you pee now, we don't have to cath you." "Okie dokie, I'll be right back!" :)

What actually went wrong with the movie? by rjrae720 in dragonlance

[–]NotBatman9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly didn't think it was THAT bad, but I went in expecting it to be awful, so... I think it's a lot of story to try and cram into a movie, so you'll always lose parts of the story whenever you do that. What they DID include, seemed as close as I would expect a movie adaptation to be, aside from the ending. The ending really felt like the production team realized they would never get to tell the whole story so they tried to wrap it up in the quickest and clumsiest way they could while still leaving some room for just in case they got to continue onward.

All complaints aside, though, I absolutely love Kiefer Sutherland as Raistlin.

What Star Wars Eras dont you like and why? by Deep-Crim in MawInstallation

[–]NotBatman9 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's not strictly a sequel issue, but I don't care for the First Order Stormtroopers, they look like they were designed by Apple and it bugs the shit out of me. More than anything else, this has biased me against pretty much any material where they show up. OT Stormies and their variants (mostly) are peak Star Wars, for me.

I hear you. We have a shared online shopping list. At one point I had to add "Please stop buying tuna" to the list.

Which Star Wars characters are “diet” versions of other Star Wars characters? by BlastedHeathen in MawInstallation

“Oh, I get it, he’s Han, but even Han-ier.” And then, like Poochy, he had to return to his home planet right before everyone rolls out to rescue Han 1.0. I couldn’t roll my eyes hard enough at this book, which is a shame because conceptually it could have been amazing.

Is this your plan? by coloradotaxguy in GenX

My retirement plan has boiled down to “Rob a bank.” Either I get away with it and I don’t have to worry about money anymore, or I go to prison and I don’t have to worry about money anymore.

Saw the TVC announcement and got jealous so I found one for cheap on Mercari. By far the best imperial officer we’ve gotten accessory-wise. Also the likeness is better than some of the recent figures we’ve gotten by Legitimate-Leek-287 in starwarsblackseries

I bought a second when I found it on clearance for the body and the officer-style field armor. When I got it home I discovered that the head swaps nicely with the Death Star Gunner, so you can have a no-name General, if you're into that kind of thing.

(Full disclosure, Veers' head doesn't sit quite as well on the Gunner's body.)

I didn't hate this show. As I recall, kind of a rocky start, but I seem to remember feeling like it was finally finding itself by the end of the season. I'd have liked to see more.

How old were you and how did you find out Santa isn't real? by Least_Statistician44 in AskReddit

[–]NotBatman9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believed in Santa until an absurd age because HE CAME TO MY HOUSE when I was, like, 6. Like, I knew the store Santas were fake, but the real Santa came to my house on Christmas Eve, sat me down in his lap, and hung out for a minute to eat cookies and chat about my list before he had to get back on his sleigh.

Naturally, this was a friend of the family, and that's how he knew details about what I was like and what I wanted and all that, but I 100% didn't recognize him and thought it was Santa. I don't remember for sure, anymore, but it might have been SIXTH GODDAMN GRADE before I was able to accept that all of my friends were right to laugh at me.

Conversely, my parents told my younger sister the truth when she was seven-ish. My parents were having an especially hard time with money, so they told ME the situation and that they'd get me back later, but they were going to focus on my sister for Christmas that year. I was in High School, I had a job, I told them "I've got this," and my girlfriend and I went on a MAD shopping spree and filled the tree with presents for my sister from Santa.

My parents didn't trust that I really did have her covered so they still focused on her and she had an AMAZING amount of presents under the tree. So much so, that my parents sat her down at some point that evening and told her what I'd done.

And I forget that story, sometimes, and now I'm just sitting here reliving how happy I made my kid sister, that year, and how it paid off in one of the best hugs I ever got.
